New spoilers from the Rebel Transport expansion (my copy arrived!)

By GlobeTrotting, in X-Wing

Just flipped the rule/mission book.... the final mission (Rendezvous) requires THREE GR-75s!!!!

What. Lol... I pre-ordered 2, thought that was overkill.

Is it actually 3 *at the same time*, though? Or, like 2/3 of the missions in the core set, only-as-many-as-you-have that are actually on the MAP at one time, with a certain number in reserve? (IE., one destroyed, another comes out)

You deploy all three at the start of the mission :)

It's played on a 4x3 area, 200 points for rebels, 250 for imperials and a race for the transports to flee.

How many epic points are they?

How many epic points are they?

Transports are 2 epic points each, I believe.

So do huge ships follow the same rules as smaller ships in terms of staying within the play area? If the huge ship is lined up against the edge of the map, it can't ever turn. Based on the pictures above, the aft section will always drift off the play area, does that mean the ship is destroyed?

I looked through the Huge ships rules, and I couldn't see this addressed anywhere, but it's late and I may have missed it.

Given how they move, it would seem to make sense that the Fore section should count for on or off board and the after shouldn't, but I don't know what the actual rules are.

Can anyone clarify how the rules work with huge ships and going off map, specifically the rear drift demonstratred in the pictures?

Hey Globetrotting, is that a CORSEC fabric game mat your playing on? If so what's your thoughts on it?

I ordered the larger game mat as i figured for an extra $10 i might as well (and it will be excellent for epic games).

So the this transport from th mission breaks standard epic rules then... Interesting

Yes they do. Page 3 of the huge ship rules, in the section Titled "Additional Huge ship rules:Setup" the second paragraph of the section.

Like smaller ships, the model itself doesn't matter, but the entire base has to remain within the game area or the ship is destroyed.

Thanks for the pics with the U turn. Much appreciated.

I thought those rules were purely for tournament use. I don't play in tournaments and will be using these rules purely as a rough guideline. If they get in the way of fun or cool, I'll be ignoring them all together ;)

Gotta be really careful not to get too close to the edge of the board then.

I cannot wait to try and clear a whole board of asteroids with one of these.... ramming speed!

Yes I sometimes suffer from 'roid rage.

Wow this is super cool. Please crash Porkins into the side of the transport and say I can hold this,

Yep, that's right - I really like it overall, high quality, portable, etc. only downside is that it's not the most grippy of materials (which is why I'm grabbing a grip mat as well). Looks incredible in natural light.

can you post some pictures of the cards and line up small ships next to it. Like how many fit along side the transport

Also what are you storing in the transport and get you take a picture of the box.

Don't thank the person for taking photos, demand more! You can tell the size by just looking at the pictures he has supplied.

Two requests.

1: How big is the gap between the two large bases of the transport? It looks like it's the size of a small base.

2: A picture of the transport with the range ruler next to the bases so we can see how long it is.

THANK YOU

First thank you for all of your efforts that made my Friday stuck at work much more tolerable. The info provided has been a great boon to all of us. You are a great person and if we meet at a regional I for one will bye you a drink.

Just flipped the rule/mission book.... the final mission (Rendezvous) requires THREE GR-75s!!!!

Having grabbed the last transport at my local Barnes & Noble, I thought I'd clarify that this is actually labeled 'Mission 8', and is not tied to the Escape from Hoth campaign series of missions. (I had initially interpreted this to mean that 3 GR-75s would be needed to actually run the campaign series.)

neither of the jpg's will load for me

Odd. In the original post the first and third pics were not displaying for me, but the second one was. Now in the quote box in your post, the first and second show up for me but still not the third.

Anyone else find it, not odd, but amusing that the mostly not going to be seen bottom of the ship has had more work put into painting it than the top. same amount of washing and shading+ colors.

If only there was some way to make it do a barrel roll ;)
