Obstacles and Stationary Maneuver

By Cremate, in X-Wing Rules Questions

If a Lambda Shuttle is on top of an asteriod and executes a Stationary move, does it then incur the usual penalties of flying onto or through the asteriod (possible damage)?

Of course, you check for overlap as normal and since it hasn't moved - bam.

Add to that, it doesn't only suffer potential damage ~ lose its actions, but it also cannot attack - so using the 0 maneuver on a rock is never a good choice.

"When a ship executes a maneuver in which either the maneuver template or the ship's base physically overlaps an obstacle token..."

A 0-speed maneuver is just that - a maneuver that you are executing, and after executing it you check to see if your base physically overlaps the obstacle. Obviously, if you went 0 speed, you'll still be overlapping the obstacle if you were the previous round, yes.

From there you follow all the normal steps, as he said; roll for damage, lose your actions, can't shoot that round. You would have to have a pretty compelling reason for feeling that taking a stress to hit the asteroid a second time was a better option than leaving it. :D

Cheers guys.
