For 24 points imperials, would you rather:

B) OMG + Vader
C) Saber + PTL

For 36 points imperials, would you rather:

A) 3x Academy TIEs

B) 2x Alpha TIEints

C) Bounty Hunter + Recon Spec / Rebel Captive

Not a fan of Vader's bus. Two Alpha Interceptors can be slippery enough and still pack a punch.

It depends... Is it a 24-36 points match? or do you have 24-36 points to spare in a 100 points match?

Like Nurglez said, It depends on what is the rest of the list.

By default I would say A and C, but if your squad already has a lot of Tie fighter, I might also go with the Saber+PtL. Shuttle without engine upgrade doesn't appeal to me. Likewise, if the squad is low on body count, I might go with 3 Academy or the 2 Alpha to pack a little more punch.

C for 24 points; for 36 points it's Soontir Fel + PtL + SD/HU + TC all the way!

For 24 points it REALLY depends on the rest of your squadron and what one wants from those points. More bodies you go with the AP, a possible bruiser you go with Suicide Shuttle, flanker/distraction then go with the Interceptor.

With your 36 points I'll say APx3 or the Bounty Hunter + extra although for those points there are a LOT more options to consider. Again this depends on the rest of your squadron but 36 points is a much larger percentage so these points can make a difference.

At 36 points I highly doubt I would EVER take Alpha x2 over Academy x3. The Alphas may have a bit more maneuverability and more concentrated firepower but the net attack dice are the same while the AP give another ship to take half again as many hits. Going with two ships for 36 points I'd be looking at an AP and then at that 24 point discussion we just had.
