I understand that this is kind of a silly topic considering that it has absolutely nothing to do with what anybody would actually ever field. But, this new 300 pt. epic limit got me thinking about whether or not I can even compete without needing additional ships, so I added up the values of both my imp. and reb. fleets. First, I added up the minimum cost to field each fleet with the cheapest possible pilots and no upgrades. Then I added up the the absolute maximum cost to field each side with the most expensive pilots and the most expensive possible set of upgrades in every single slot given the cards that I actually have on hand.
Here's what I came up with:
Rebel minimum cost to field my entire fleet: 199
Rebel maximum cost to field my entire fleet: 487
Imperial minimum cost to field my entire fleet: 187
Imperial maximum cost to field my entire fleet: 384
So, I guess that I could theoretically compete in a 300 point match with my current fleets. That's not to say that I would be particularly competative in either case, but its nice to know that I could try it without having to invest any more money in the hobby.
For anybody interrested, this consists of the following ships for each side (with appropriate upgrade cards):
Reb: 2-A, 2-B, 3-X (2 starter, 1 expansion), 2-Y, 1-HWK, 1-YT
Imp: 1-TIE-Advanced, 1-TIE-Bomber, 5-TIE-Fighter (2 starter, 1 expansion), 2-TIE-Interceptor, 1-Firespray, 1-Shuttle
