Gunner and Luke together??

By Papamambo, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Just wondering how this would work on the Falcon.. Both Gunner and Luke have the ability that if you miss, you can perform an attack with your primary weapon. The caveat being that you cannot perform another attack..

So, if you had this on the Falcon, attacked and missed, would you be able to use gunner to fire your primary, and if that missed use Luke? It seems that one chains off the other, so is this how these cards would work together??

They don't work together actually.

If you use either one, you can't use the other so both is a waste of at least 5 points. If you use Gunner or Luke you can preform no other attacks that round.

Ok, that's what I was wondering.. It would be nice though :)

You already said it yourself

The caveat being that you cannot perform another attack.

If you use one, then you can't use the other to make another attack afterward.

I know what I read on the card, I was just hoping that they would daisy chain.. Oh well.

Ok, further to the above then.. What about using Luke with Mercenary Co-Pilot? I attack and Miss, use Luke to attack again, and roll a focus. Luke's ability allows me to change a focus result to a hit result, and Mercenary Co-Pilot allows me to change a hit to a Crit. Would this be allowed??

Would this be allowed??

I don't see why not. You can't re-roll a dice more then once. So you can't use TL and Han to both reroll the dice. But there's nothing stopping you from modifying a dice more then once.

Ok, one last one (I promise!!). As you can tell, I'm just getting around to flying my Falcon, so I'm trying out different combos here.. Sorry to be a pain in everyone's a$$..

Gunner, Marksmanship, Merc Co-Pilot..

Attack and Miss

Gunner - Re-Roll Primary weapon rolling 3 eyes

Using Marksmanship, change One eye to a Crit, and the others to hits.

Using Merc Co-pilot change one of those hits to a crit..

Sounds pretty deadly if it works.. more so at range one if you rolled 4 dice to attack with the Falcon..

Just keep in mind that using marksmanship is an action, so it has to be declared when you can perform an action, not during the combat roll.

Works fine at Range 3. Outside of Range 3, the Merc doesn't give you the added <crit> result, so keep that in mind.

So, if I went into every round declaring I was going to use Marksmanship (just in case), and then followed through with the above, I should be ok though correct?

Edit - As you can tell, I've purchased faster than I've had a chance to actually play..

Yes

And the attack generated by Gunner doesn't have to be at the same target as your original attack.
