Need help countering Y-1300, B, B build

By Nickotine42, in X-Wing

My wife and I have been enjoying a couple games here and there. I've crossed the first hurdled and gotten her actually amused about playing a game or two with me. But, I feel like they need to be competitive and not lopsided in my favor, otherwise I'll lose her forever. She will play, but she's not into list building. This is where I need help. We are both really new and our fleet is somewhat limited. I've been enjoying a list that Theorist put together involving a slightly suped up Chewy and 2x Blues with FCS (The FCS are simply ridiculous). So what can that be countered with? I've been spending most of my time researching and building rebels and I'm still pretty green to the Imps. Our Imp roster is as follows.

6x tie

6x interceptors

1x tie adv

1x firespray

I've played a couple solo games unsuccessfully with

Krassis, with HLC, Gunner

Soontir with PTL and Stealth

Dark Curse with Hull

Now I'm a pretty poor Imp pilot, but this list doesn't seem to be able to compete with Chewy and the Blues. She's flown that list against a Dutch, Garven, Ibby build and rocked me. But I'm worried about Chewy and the Blues cutting through her as much as it had through me. Too much firepower and the 360 arc is really versatile. I'd like my playing partner to still kick my ass and I be able to use my Chewy.

FYI-proxies are welcomed. And thanks for the help

What about:

Kath Scarlet + Autoblaster

Alpha Squad x 2

Howlrunner + PTL

Krassis w/ HLC, Recon Specialist & Seismic Charge

4 Obsidian Pilots or 3 Academy Pilots & Dark Curse

Or run Tie swarms

Agility 1 ships get eaten alive by tie swarms

Imperials need more ships. Krassis or Kath and a mini Tie-Swarm will give the Rebels a run for their money. Are any of your Ties the actual Tie Expansion or are they all from Starters? Because Backstabber and Howlrunner are fantastic Tie Pilots.

8x Academy TIEs

Mauler Mithel isn't too bad either for a TIE Pilot. 4 red dice at range 1.

I would get a bomber or two then load them up with cluster missiles. I loves me my cluster missles, especially against agility 1.

Thank you all for the replies. We haven't flown a tie swarm so that never really occurred to me. We'll give it a try. When I made my first big order I got mostly rebel ships because my other playing partner was going heavy on Imps with his purchases. Now my wife is hearing all the pew pew noises and thinks that she is better than both of us at spatial analysis (which she is), I'm going to have to invest more into the Imp side. Shuttle, Bombers, and maybe another Firespray are going into the shopping cart.

Firespray + Gunner > Firespray + HLC

As for Pilot I would either upgrade to Kath+Expert Handling or downgrade to Bounty Hunter.

A Bounty Hunter + Gunner is only 38 points

Then get Howlerunner and 5 more TIEs (I read you only have 6) TIEs are the natural predator of agility 1 ships.

You want to maximize your total number of ships, especially against YT's and B's

When you're going up against Chewie and a pair of B-Wing I say you should expect your attacks to hit (which makes Gunner far less appealing to me especially when rolling 3 dice) but you will need to do so repeatedly and often. You want to throw as many red dice at those ships as you can. The "TIE Swarm" can be good as you can toss a lot of dice and while you likely lose some ships you can still keep shooting.

What about:

Kath Scarlet + Autoblaster

Alpha Squad x 2

Howlrunner + PTL

WHY would anyone recommend Autoblasters against a YT or B-Wing? Ok, their one evade die can't cancel any of your [hits] but now it can cancel your [crit] and any Evade Token the YT generates can also be used to cancel the [crit] first although with Chewie [crits] aren't so big to start with. You're giving up an attack die to use the Autoblaster and against 1 agility ships there is no way it pays to use them.
