I understand your squadron is 300 points total with up to 5 Epic points worth of ships. I understand that a Corvette is 3 points and a Transport is 2. My question is do you still have to factor in the point cost on the actual cards for the Corvette and the Transport in your 300 point total? Is the 5 Epic point deal FFGs way of keeping someone from using 2-3 Corvettes or 4 Transports? The Tourney Rules don't really specify this, but I would think they still have to factor into the 300 total.

It has been answered over in the other thread already. Yes they do count against the 300 points, the 5 is just to limit you from tossing down 3-4 Corvettes. Do you honestly think it would be fair if you ran a rebel squadron right now with 2 transports AND 300 points of small ships against an imperial player?

That it is you have 300 points of SHIPS, be they small, large or huge. The 5 Epic points is to stop you going OTT on huge ships.

Sorry I didn't see that is was answered elsewhere, but thank you both for your replies. I figured it was their way of limiting the amount of huge ships.

Between me and you, once Empire get huge ships I'd be happy to have 300 points of ships + 5 epic points worth of huge ships in addition to that.

Random observation here, the 5 point limit on epic ships currently limits you to only 2 huge ships. Either 2 2-point transports for a total of 4 points or a 2-point transport and a 3-point Corvette for the max of 5.

In terms of balance I'd imagine that whatever future Imperial Huge ships that are being planned will be similar in point cost. But there's nothing stoping FFG from coming out with a 1-point huge ship and then say a 4-pointer or even a straight 5-pointer SD.

Except that team play tops at 3... That feels wrong to me, as they should get at least 4 to allow for /something weightier than a Corvette.

Thanks I missed that in the team play section. I'm with you and think that the team has should share 6 Epic points and split them anyway they choose.
