300 Point Epic Imperial Lists

Ion Tokens

Some card abilities may cause a ship to receive an ion token. Huge ships do
not suffer the standard effects of ion tokens. Instead, when a huge ship gains
energy during its “Gain Energy” step, reduce the amount of energy it gains by
one for each ion token assigned to it. Then remove all ion tokens from the
ship at the end of the Activation phase.
Huge ships move as normal when ioned, they don't gain energy.

I knew that ( yeah right ) was just pretending not to know ( are you really buying this ) but draining a huge ship energy would still be an advantage.

It sure would and ioning is going to be a major tactic, in order to keep the secondary actions down. The transport alone will be able to remove stress, draw attacks to itself or deal crippling damage to unshielded craft without escape.

Actually, if I remove the seismic charges from my list ( thus changing the ion, drop and run plan ) I'd be able to change two Scimitar Squadron for two Gamma Squadron. For a little variety.

Keep the ion-heavy Defenders as they are.

The bombers will take care of the huge ships - either way.

even the cr90 has a huge dead zone when approching from behind - and unless the huge ships have a 'stop' on their dials, they will have trouble to shake bombers on their 6 ... or shuttles sporting ion cannons.

so it might be a good idea to go with seismics - to fend off enemy fighters while hunting for whales.
