Different versions of the hardcover core book?

By mukslinger, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I was wondering if there are different versions of the hardcover core book. The reason I ask is that I just watched a review on YouTube where they open the book and talk about one of the full page art and they joked that one of the ex guys looked like Will Wheton, but my book is different.

It's only a few pages in, their book, left page, has an image of Vader and the bounty hunters top left with the beginner box set highlighted lower right. The right page is a full page art depicting Luke and uncle Owen in a land speeder being chased by dew backs.

My core book doesn't have either piece of art, but my book did come with a read me first insert that has the Vader and bounty hunters. Actually now that I look at the text of their core book, looks the same as the insert I have.

If I were to guess, newer versions include the insert as part of the book? Just curious, I'm wondering if there are the other differences, if any, like errata fixes, etc.

There are two versions, the original and the reprint. The reprint does include errata, I guess they merged the Read First stuff too. That I don't know for a fact, just the errata.

Thank you,

I thought that might be the case, thanks for the quick reply.

I bought my copy of EotE last week. It would be great if it's the reprint version with the Errata in it. What's the easiest way to tell?

The original copy of the CB comes with a pull-out story detailing a group of adventurers going through some sort of example of an...adventure. This pull-out is labelled "Read me First."

The reprint CB (w/errata) has the same story printed directly into the opening pages.

That is the fastest, simplest way to tell.

The other way is to look at the SKU. FFG prints a month/year on the barcode blocks of each of their products. Others may have the info, but there is a set of dates to look for which indicates when the errata was included.

When my copy disintegrates from my hot little hands, I will replace it with a current print. Until then, I have the FAQ/Errata PDF from the EotE Support page to reference.

Thanks. There's no pull out but there is a two-side vignette of some people having an adventure for the book's introduction, so that must be it. The barcode on the back says November 2013. So good news for me! :D
