What other games do you play?

By Tycho120, in X-Wing

Firestorm Armada! Bit generic, but apparently V2 is a better system that I plan on picking up just as soon as ffg stop making me spend hundreds of pounds on new shiny things I'll probably never use.

I also collect and model 40k, but haven't played it in over 8 years.

So many to choose at :)

X-wing

Flames of war

Operation squad

Ora et labora

Ticket to ride

Catan

Agricola

Vampire (rpg)

Cthulhu (rpg)

And others :)

Table top games it's

40K

WFB

LOTR

I've also played a lot of video games.

I love most of the big name ones

Fallout 3 and Vegas

Skyrim

All 3 Fable games

World of Warcraft

Eve Online

Hearthstone

But X-Wing is where it's at for me at the moment. GW is slowly pricing itself out of my budget and most in my group have droped 40k for X-Wing. When I can buy a ship for £12 that can be used in multiple ways, has rules easy enough for my children to have fun with and I can carry my stuff in a tackle box as opposed to a massive army case it's hard to justify 40k really.

Were moving to Canada (victoria bc) with luck this December, I'm not taking any of my GW stuff at all, but my X-wing stuff most definitely is.

Old school.... Starfleet battles,SPI Airwar,Sopwith, Richthofen's War ,Axis and allies,Magic Realm,Squad leader, modern tank warfare or what ever it was called,( used miniature Tanks and a deck of playing cards for damage etc).pretty much like and played any game that had a defined set of rules and one that had an actual start AND ending that cant be interpreted or changed by a third person.. aka (D.M.) also have and play a couple of railroading games that are pretty fun, but for the life of me i cant think of the names of them right now... Rail Barron is one of them, or rail builder?? Empire builder? IDK.... as for vid games.. pretty much any open world RPG... and when i am feeling like the younger ADD generation i like FPS games as well...although i seem to get through them waaaay to quickly... i like a good LONG LASTING storyline... not a quick shoot em up, game over type of deal which most of the Modern Warfare games seem to be like...

Board/Card Games:

Betrayal at House on the Hill, Cards Against Humanity, Devastation of Indines, Formula D, Hive, King of Tokyo, Last Night on Earth, Marvel Legendary, Mr Jack, Pandemic, Small World, Smash Up. Also considering buying Summoner Wars!

RP Games:

Too many to list, but include Star Wars: Edge of the Empire, BASH!, Honor and Intrigue, The One Ring, all of the WH40K series, all of the White Wolf series (Old, New, Scion, Trinity, etc), Fireborn, Weapons of the Gods, Riddle of Steel... the list goes on. :D

Been playing too many games for too many years to remember them all. Lately on the tabletop: historic from World War II to Vietnam to Cold War, Epic Armageddon, Battlefleet Gothic. Board games: Descent, Blood Bowl, Game of Thrones.

I play netrunner and MTG, along with anything xbox one :)

Blood Bowl

This is fascinating. Learning about a lot of new games!

Roborally is also excellent.

Heroscape

I was like "oh, cool, a Heroscaper!" and then I recognized the name, too!

Heroscape

You on the other hand, I have no idea who you are. :P

Right now, Heroscape is a once-a-month tournament for me, but at least it's consistent!

Other than that, Marvel Legendary is the only thing that's seeing regular play time. Ticket to Ride and King of Tokyo have been played recently, and I finally got to try Eldritch Horror the other week.

I kind of regret buying Cards Against Humanity because, while it's fun, it gets requested far too often, eating into potential play time for all the other awesome games I have.

Anyone play Hero Quest? That game was awesome. Heard a guy talking about it the other day and it reminded me how amazing that game was/is. Apparently people still play it!

I am a Pathfinder DM

SW LCG

GoT the Board Game

Cards against Humanity if that counts

I have the Edge of the Empire books but haven't found a group near me that plays or wants to learn.

Can't say I know you either, fella.

I play the Star Wars LCG, and I've played every Star Wars card game at least a little. I used to play Star Wars Miniatures, but then I discovered X-Wing and how much better it was. I love Marvel Legendary and I had the LotR LCG, but those were both stolen out of my car a while ago and I haven't been able to replace them.

In groups, we play Last Night on Earth, Ticket to Ride, Pandemic, Gloom, Betrayal, Cards Against Humanity, and occasionally Small World and different Risk varieties (Star Wars: Original Trilogy being my favorite).

I enjoy playing RPG and table-top wargames the most, although there are a few board games that I play too.

Warhammer Fantasy

Mordheim (trying to get into it.. have everything needed to play)

X-Wing Miniatures

Flames of War

Lord of the Rings Battle Strategy (GW miniatures game)

D&D (preference towards 3.5 edition)

DragonQuest (pre/early-D&D RPG)

Star Wars D6

Malifaux

HeroQuest (original, just picked up the OOP game and 1 expansion)

Munchkin

LionHeart

DragonLance (board game with Dragon miniatures)

Axis and Allies

Settlers of Catan

Stratego

KingMaker (old Avalon Hill game)

Oh, I'm sure there's others.. but those are the current and most recent. I use to play Magic the Gathering and had a few thousand cards ranging from Beta to Fallen Empires (or Ice Age.. can't remember which one of those was the latter.. but had both) but sold them 2 years ago.

I really wish I had more time for tabletop gaming; being a full time minister/part-time student/apprentice falconer takes up more time than you'd realize.

As far as video games go, right now I am playing through Pokemon Emerald. I also play the Thrawn's Revenge mod for Star Wars Empire at War: Forces of Corruption (I highly recommend this mod).

Games other than X-wing I've played at least once include:

  • Spartacus: A Game of Blood and Treachery
  • Firefly
  • Fortress America
  • Various Fluxx games (Fluxx, Zombie Fluxx, et al)
  • Mansions of Madness

Games I played in the distant past include:

  • "Classic" D&D (the "Red Box")
  • Marvel Superheroes (TSR)
  • D&D 3.0 - 3.5
  • Star Wars Role-playing Game (West End Games)
  • Stargate SG-1 Role-playing Game (AEG)
  • Battletech Role-playing Game (FASA)
  • various CCGs (DB Z and MTG, et al)

Fine, I'll list them...in no particular order:

Munchkin

Dungeon

Descent (2)

Castle Ravenloft

Lords of Waterdeep

Agricola

RoboRally

Carcassone

Dominion

Ticket to Ride

Fluxx

Chrononauts

Citadels

Shadows over Camelot

Forbidden Island

RPGs:

DnD (4thcore!)

FFG Star Wars RPG

Torchbearer

I think that's everything I've played in the last 8-10months.

There are a few small card games I can't remember names for - one involved being dwarves digging for gold, one was futuristic with a traitor and the entire game just consisted of yelling at each other(which was awesome!), and another was about heroes in a tavern.
