X-Wing: Rebel Transport Expansion Pack are off the boat
X-Wing: Rebel Transport Expansion Pack are off the boat
Expected by: April 30, 2014
MMMmmm yes, yes it is. Mwah ha ha ha.
Good lawd! I better reserve one at my FLGS!
The first transport is away!
I wonder if it'll be legal for Regionals. If FFG doesn't say otherwise, it will be, and that'll be a bit interesting to get a hold of it in time for May 3rd events.
Is there anything in the pack that isn't spoiled in http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_news.asp?eidn=4682 ? I've been preparing assuming Imp Aces but no Reb Xport, so this adds an interesting stressful twist on the meta.

What the...? What kind of boat did they put it on, a motorboat?
And the rebel power creep is in full swing.
According to the new rules it's tournament legal as soon as it's released.
Unless stated otherwise.
It seems like the new torps and the stress droid shouldn't be legal until wingman and the other new EPTs that are alternatives to PTL are out.
They went on the boat eight days ago. So "four to six weeks" was not met.

The first few weekends of regional championships may be a bloodbath for Imperial lists if the Rebel Transport's contents aren't banned.
The regional championships that come before the Assault at Imdaar Alpha events:
May 3: Bellevue, NE; Monroeville, PA; Pearland, TX
May 17: Centerville, OH; Greenfield, WI
May 24-25: Burlingame, CA

Don't forget the international regionals. There's something around 40 total regional locations worldwide.

All they need to have is a Epic logo and they can't be used in a regular tourney, right?

Thanks! I hadn't taken a look at that yet. I count 11 regionals outside the U.S. before May 31. And all five of the U.K.'s regionals will be before then, geez.

Right, but all the X-Wing pilots and upgrade cards will be legal unless FFG puts them on a ban list.
Given how long it took Imperial Aces to get here (and the whine-fest that accompanied the waiting), I suspect FFG chose to wait to announce that the ships were on a boat. They've probably been in transits for several weeks already.
That was my understanding of the FAQ. Transport has the epic logo, yes?

That's what I said in another thread.

WELL YOU DIDN'T SAY IT HERE
... er, great minds and all that business.

The question is if the X-wing pilots, Torpedoes, droids, etc have that logo as well. My understanding is that they do not, so they will be tournament legal.

The transport pilot card certainly has. It seems to be the only card with the logo in that expansion.

~ 6000 nm between coasts and merchant ships go roughly 12 knots that's about 8 days. However, you gain a day crossing the international dateline eastbound so anywhere between 8-10 days is a good rough estimate for direct 'slow boat from China' travel. Could be done?

I wasn't even thinking of the snub pilots, yea those aren't epic or anything so legal pending FFG's restriction. Do you think that they'll restrict it if it's not distributed by the time the first regionals start?

But then it has to go through customs, which is the usual hangup. It does seem like they were slow about updating the upcoming page, at least by a week or two.

I suppose that's not unreasonable, but it doesn't go very far to explain why IA took 8 weeks.
Wait, you mean the Transport is going to be EARLY! Quick, check all the pigs, make sure they aren't flying off. Someone else get a quick temperature check on hell.
