Deck: The Smallest Person can Change the Course

By Glowwyrm, in Strategy and deck-building

I wanted to share a multi-player deck I've been playing that's lots of fun to play and has been really effective in 3-4 player games.

Heroes (20 threat):
Bilbo Baggins
Pippin (Lore)
Mirlonde

Allies (16):
Anborn x2
Gleowine x2
Ithilien Archer x3
Ithilien Tracker x 3
Master of the Forge x3
Warden of Healing x3

Attachments (23):
Asfaloth x3
A Burning Brand x3
Elf-Stone x3
Protector of Lorien x2
Ranger Bow x3
Ranger Spikes x3
Resourceful x3
Song of Wisdom x3

Events (11):
Daeron's Runes x3
Deep Knowledge x3
Gildor's Counsel x2
Mithrandir's Advice x3

This deck was built with one core set.

This deck serves in a valuable support role. Bilbo will give a little card draw for everyone, Pippin raises all engagement costs by two, and Mirlonde keeps your threat low (which works well with other low-threat decks). You can give lots of card draw, manage the staging area, heal, etc. All the usual good Lore stuff.

Your goal is to get Resourceful down turn one while you can pay it's secrecy cost. This will net you four resources every turn, which means you can reliably play two cards a turn. With a mulligan or some card draw in my opening hand, it's rare that I don't have a Resourceful down turn one. After that, you're free to help the team.

The Song of Wisdoms are in the deck so you can play that and a Burning Brand on the main defender. Asfaloth goes on the Spirit player's Glorfindel (in case they don't have it or aren't drawing it). If someone isn't running Glorfindel in multi-player (whaaaaaa????? you're doing it wrong), Mirlonde works too.

The deck has undergone a lot of tweaking, and can be easily adjusted depending on the quest. There are lots of things you could swap in, but I've found all these combos to be particularly effective, and you can trash any unnecessary cards with Protector. Finally, while you're going to draw a lot of cards, multi-player games tend to go faster, so I included mutliple copies so that you're sure to see them.
