Mynocks v2

So a while ago I came up with a mynocks variant .

I just came up with a new version that I think sounds more fun.

Essentially assign asteroids to be mynock infested. Up to all of them if you want.

Encountering mynocks happens if your template overlaps the asteroid or if you land on an asteroid.

If your template goes over it, roll a red die. On a hit result take on ion token. On a crit result take two ion tokens.

If you land on the asteroid roll two red dice.

You take no damage from asteroids or mynocks.

If a small ship is assigned multiple ion tokens, he can only shed them one at a time.

Would make people treat asteroids differently.

Now we need a space slug. :)

I was with you up until small ships only shedding 1 per turn if they get multiple, for 2 reasons - you would have to differentiate ion tokens gained from mynocks from regular ion tokens, and ion movement for 2 turns is essentially a death sentence for most ships.

So what you are saying is I could use asteroids to slow down my TIEs to get better shots next turn with no ill side effect? Ion tokens aren't scary when you know you will be getting them and can choose to set yourself up to get the most from them. If you want this to still be effective, keep the damage you would normally gain, otherwise a skilled player would just abuse the slow down for the faster ships in this game.

You could just have Mynock Tokens instead of Ion Tokens. Also try to avoid asteroids if you don't wanna die because of mynocks. :P
