Advice for Running at a Con

My biggest recommendation is to use NPCs to show off what the system is capable of.

Have at least one NPC in every encounter improvising actions or attacks in the same way a creative (or desperate) PC might. This demonstrates the fluidity of the rules, so the players have an idea of what they can do in a "narrative" RPG.

In the cantina fight, one of the Gamorreans can throw kegs from behind the bar, or flip tables onto PCs. In the spaceport control room, one of the "helpless technicians" can try to lock down the facility or scramble for a discarded weapon. Every personal-scale fight that I've run around or aboard a starship ended up with shipboard systems (particularly exposed wiring and ventilation) being turned into an environmental hazard or outright weapon.
