Anit-Pursuit Lasers and 360 degree firing arcs

By Hrathen, in X-Wing

I have wanted to try Anti- Pursuit Lasers on Outer Rim Smugglers for a long time. Last night I got my chance. This was my list

ORS + Anti Pursuit Laser

Y-wing + Ion Turret x2

B-wing + AdV Sensors.

It was also my first attempt using the now famous AdV Sensors on a B-wing.

The list turned out to be awesome. It wasn't as hard to use the APL as I thought it was going to be. They synergized really well with the ion turrets.

I will admit that I was fighitng a Interceptor Ace list. Three named interceptors just aren't going to do well against 3 out of 4 ships with 360 firing arc.

I have wanted to try the ORS since he came out, and I haven't wanted to put to many points of upgrades on him. That sort of defeats the purpose of taking the cheapest (significalntly) weakest YT-1300.

I have also wanted to try the now famous AdvSensor B. My question on that is, do people really have 3 copies of the Shuttle just so they can fly three B's with the sensors?

Well I plan on getting a second shuttle so I can use 2 shuttles and a Firespray.

However down the road I would like to have 4 shuttles because having 40 hp and 16 points for upgrades sounds sick to me.

Don't know if that answers your questions but may give your a bit of insight

What pilots was your opponent flying exactly?

I think most people borrow the Adv Sensor card(s) from friends. I'm sure some people have 4 shuttles, but I'd guess most people have 1-2 shuttles at most.

I have 3 Shuttles just because I have 3 Shuttles. I'm actually planning on getting 1 more. I'm an outlier though.

If you want to go full Troll, I'd suggest
3x Outer Rim Smuggler

+ Anti-Pursuit Lasers

+ Intelligence Agent

+ Navigator.

Find out where they'll be moving, Navigate into their path, have them run into you, and laugh your way to the bank.
Being able to cover each other with your turrets also helps.

(This is a SableGryphon build, from before he discovered that Righteous Bison build)

He had

Soontir Fell

Fell's Wrath

Carnor Jax

They were all heavily upgraded.I don't think it was a great list, he was experimenting with Two modifications and targeting computers.

When I saw what he was flying I almost changed my list. It was just going to be too good against interceptors. But I think the Anti Pursuit Laser / Ion Turret combo would have been good no matter what.

I also found that the ORS flys differently than the other YT-1300. If you get close, it has pretty good firepower, even without any upgrades, and you don't worry so much about it getting killed.

Did we... did we just find him? The one person on earth who flies Fel's Wrath?

It's a cold day, gentlemen. It's a very, very cold day... but it's given me hope.

ORS+APL is one of my favourite combos in game, and I honestly think it's a great way to teach people how to fly with the intention blocking. ORS will likely move first into potential flightpaths, get cheeky hits with APL's and denying the enemy their actions. Then you get three reds on the ships that didn't quite bump into you, with more than enough hull to take a beating.

All for 29 pts!
