Looks like it would be hard to manoeuvre on.
I got in only for the turrets. I've got the station surface... just wanted the towers.
The turbolaser turrets actually are very nice ... the surface too - but I can see issues while using templates and moving ships on this.

I'd prefere a printed death star surface
That's how I made mine, printed surface material on hard board. Complete with actual 3D trench. Far, far less too!

I won't be getting this either, but I was looking at the page and I think it says somewhere that the tested the design so that the ships will always lay flat no matter how they're oriented.
that's some dedication. I assume that means the maneuver templates shouldn't run into problems either.
