75 pt Boba Fett list CnC please

By exinfris, in X-Wing

I was thinking of using this list with Boba Fett.

Boba Fett, Slave 1, PTL, Engine upgrade, Navigator, Cluster Missles, Proton Torpedos, Siesmic Charge. 59 pts.

Dark Curse. 16 pts.

Any CnC would be great.

I like the use of DC over BS in this case... BS would be the clear #1 target (being easier to kill than Boba and still deadly). I'd be concerned that you have too many points on Boba, but I get that's the idea. Still, you have 8 pts of Ordnance, which could easily be changed to a HLC (which with PTL does more damage than PTs, 3.75 hits vs. 3.00 hits with the PT). Clusters are still going to be rather lack luster at R2 and R1.

Not that I'm advocating the HLC... You're more likely to spend most of the game firing out of your rear arc. You might want to consider gunner since it works in the rear arc unlike any of the ordnance. I like the seismic charge since it'll make people think twice about following you, and at PS8, you're going to be able to see where most people will end up first. EU+Nav+PTL will allow you to react to most people.

So yeah, I would just take a hard look at those 8 points of ordnance. You could also potentially look at navigator... Rebel captive might be a better choice as a defensive crew member.

Navigator sounds good for Boba on paper, but the only time it's come in handy for me was when I accidentally set the dial to the wrong maneuver. Both Navigator and his pilot ability are trivialized by skill and a little forethought. Recon Specialist is a better investment, I think.

What is "CnC"?
Also, I definitely prefer Rebel Captive to Navigator. It puts your opponent in a HUGE bind.

Comments and Criticisms!

I normally go for the Rebel Captive as well, but Navigator + Boba's ability is a force to be reckoned with!

I will consider the HLC since my objective will be to keep my opponent at range 2 and 3 as much as possible. And adding Rebel Captive would keep the other guy stressed which will help. I will try both and see which works best with my play style.

The idea is to give Boba excellent manuverability while having good offensive ability. Gunner is something I hadn't considered yet.

I figure DC was a good choice since my opponents would target him first as he is one Tie, and as such an easier target.

Siesmic charge will help as one if the guys I play against usually tries to keep his ships bunched up and to use 1 movements to box you in. SC should make him think twice.

Recon Sepcialist may be a good option paired with Deadeye, get some ordinance off without needing a target lock, good for a surprise attack. Plus Recon Sepc is great to help survive to use a focus on or two on defense if required

Isn't that a good thing though? Boba is 80% of the points of this list, I want that ship to LAST because if it drops, I'm probably done for. I'd love for someone to be going after Backstabber so I can survive and extra round to get of the missle or torp I haven't yet.

Personally, I prefer the opponent to not have such an easy choice, I want them to have to continually second guess which is the more important target and force a minstake. When one target is an "easy" target (decision wise) then they will focus all efforts, single-mindedly, on that target. That target falls quick and then the force is applied in full to target 2. So if you can get a situation where the opponent will either split their forces against your forces or switch target priorities in mid-game then that is where you want to be. Again, just my opinion.

That makes a lot of sense, I would agree with you. This isn't really a great scenario to use with that train of thought as in no way is a Tie as big of a threat as a Firespray, no matter what upgrads and mods are on them.

With this Boba build, I'd do everything I could if I was playing against it, to kill Boba. If Dark Curse is the only other ship and he's as tough as he is to take down, heck yeah I'll focus all fire on Fett. If you can trick an opponent into shooting at a Tie, Backstabber will accomplish that before Curse. I want my attacks to hit and mean something!
