R2 Astromech
If ship is ionized, R2 Astromech’s ability
does make the white [ 1] maneuver green.
Am I the only one that did not know this?
Maybe you are. ![]()
It is a clarification. Not a rule change.

Oh and I also noticed that they answered another question that came up here.
If you forget to properly set a dial, the other person gets to decide the maneuver for that ship, same as if you did a red while stressed.
Note two important differences between that ruling and setting a red when stressed:

Well, you can't use AdvS when you're stressed anyways ![]()

True, but the ship you forgot a dial for isn't really stressed. So it's good to have all the effects listed. ![]()
I was simply saying the selecting a maneuver part was the same. But again it never hurts to be more accurate.
So the original FAQ posted today had:
The second version has:
Seems like a pretty major difference...
I actually don't like the change. If for whatever reason I wanted to pass a lock to a bomber or a firespray or anything else in order to get focus/target lock I can't do it now.....ah well I wasn't doing it much anyway but IF I wanted to, well now I couldn't do it...
The version at the top from FAQ 2.0 was only valid for about one day. Now it is the same as it was before. And yes, Jendon can give TL to someone who already has a focus token. And he can give TL to someone with the TL action in the action bar.
More like a couple hours
Well, technically, the FAQ was dated 4/7... so it was actually like a week. Though I don't know when the link updated.

True. You could use advanced sensors and PTL and then reveal a red maneuver. Which makes some difference to forgetting the dial.
The "can choose a red maneuver" part is very similar: If you forget to place the dial the opponent may only choose a red maneuver if there is no stress.
Anyone else notice that casual and competitive play no longer require "dog fighting" rules and dog fighting will only apply to premier tournaments.
I am not sure why they would have non-dog-fighting competitive play (ie: store championships)... this implies you can have 150pt store championship tournaments, or even scenarios....

No one seemed to know about the updated FAQ until Hothie posted this thread a little after noon yesterday, so it may as well have been valid for just a couple hours =)
Ok, my question deals with tie-breakers. Players Al, Bob, and Charlie all are 3-1 (15 points) at the end of the day. Al has beaten Bob in the first round, but neither player played Charlie. Their strength of schedule:
Al played Bob (won, ended up 3-1), Doug (lost, ended up 1-3), Ed (won, ended up 1-3), Frank (won, ended up 2-2)
Bob played Al (lost, ended up 3-1), Frank (won, ended up 2-2), George (won, ended up 2-2), and Harry (won, ended up 2-2)
Charlie played Ivan (won, ended up 0-4), George (won, ended up 2-2), Harry (won, ended up 2-2), and Juan (lost, ended up 4-0)
So Charlie's opponents have 40 points, Al's have 35, and Bob's have 45. Al needs to be higher than Bob because of tiebreaker 1. Is the order Al, Bob, Charlie (Al is higher than Bob, Bob is higher than Charlie), or Charlie, Al, Bob (Charlie is higher than Al, Al is higher than Bob)? Basically, you either have to ignore Charlie having a higher SoS vs Al, or Bob having a higher SoS vs Charlie.
Next question, Al beat Bob first round. Charlie beat Al second round. Bob gets paired up in the third round and beats Charlie. They win all their other matches. Now what's the finishing order?
Finally, "sort the players in each score group by player number." What is player number? I'm assuming it's the current ranking of the players? So the TOs have to figure out the ranks each round? Is there software that follows all of the pairing rules out there? Usually, I see TOs randomly pairing people within score groups (which works for round two, since none of the 5 pointers have played one another, and they all beat someone who has 0 points, but after that...).

This is from the SW LCG Tournament document
"If a tiebreaker between players with identical
tournament points is needed (for the purpose of
making or seeding the final cut), any player who
has defeated each opponent in the tied group is
advanced. If no player has defeated each of the other
tied players, strength of schedule is used as the tiebreaker.
This is calculated by totaling and comparing
the tournament points of each tied player’s opponents.
The player with the most tie-breaker points wins
the tie and advances. If the strength of schedule
of two or more tied players is also tied, calculating
and comparing the strength of schedule of each tied
player’s set of opponents (in other words, the strength
of schedule of each player’s schedule) should be used
as the next tie-breaker."
That is the only proper way to handle the three way tie situation you described. Unless one player has beaten both the other players head to head has to be ignored.
I have no idea why X-wing is worded so poorly, though I currently have a very low opinion of FFGs Organized Play efforts it seems like poor proofreading.

The Store Championships have a specific set of rules you have to follow that come with them. What's really cool is how the regional kits have an exact layout of how many rounds to use and what to cut to depending on the turnout.

Do we know that they do? That would be a stark change from FFGs normal OP directives which is to let the venues figure everything out for themselves with no real direction.
Did the large ship rules go away? I pointed someone here to find them and they can't locate them.
They are in the FAQ.
Did the large ship rules go away?
No, they're still on page 3 left side.
Ah, thanks. We were under the impression they'd posted the inserts from the large ship expansions as PDFs, not just a summary of the rules themselves.
where the heck is the new rule regarding imitative??? cant find it?????

It's in the tournament rules section, not the FAQ.
Actually I manage an FLGS and any game store that has told you that FFG has forced them to fend for themselves is probably being misleading. The store championship documents had rules that covered how the tournament should be run format wise and rule set wise. They went a step forward in this years regional kits by also including a required round breakdown based on the number of players and set what number of players you should cut to after said number of rounds.
The league kits do tell you that you can do whatever you would like for them as far as formatting is concerned but even then they still have suggested formats in the inserts so even then FFG has given direction for them. Honestly it's a nice break from the majority of other games we have to figure out for ourselves how the formatting is supposed to work by delving into rules articles and such for different formats. Here is looking at you YGO draft mechanics...

Sadly this is not the case for some of FFGs other games, particularly SWLCG. I ran this years LCG SC for my local venue, and there were no formatting guidelines included in the kit we received beyond the open ended ones in the event document. As such there was no consistency amongst SCs of even similar attendance. I'm glad FFG gets some games right in that regard
Hopefully this is not the case for the Regional Kit, I will likely find out tomorrow from my LGS when I go in for the new Pack. My understanding is that Netrunner venues were emailed event guidelines with specific instructions not to share the contents of those emails with the public. Why FFG includes these Tiers of Tournament sections to their event rules talking about ensuring consistent expectations from venue to venue and doesn't actually give those guidelines to the players that they can have consistent expectations is a true mystery.
These type of things should be part of the event rules for all games not hidden in event kits for some.
The most annoying thing on here is that Asteroids cannot be modded in any way. Not even, from what it sounds like, for ownership. I sharpied my edges black less than a month ago, and suddenly that's against the rules if I have a grumpy TO...

I would be shocked if your TO opposed this, I did it with my TLs and never had anyone object.
Worst case, you always just use your opponents asteroids.

Since most people have multiple core sets anyway, you could also bring a modded set and an unmodded set.

At least for asteroids, templates and tokens, you could simply use your opponent's
