I fear something terrible has happened...

By Hoosteen, in X-Wing

I live disturbingly close to the seller. Just give the word and I shall have him cast into the Great Pit of Carkoon

Those are really impressive

I'm not a huge fan of the experimental series TIEs but these models are very well done and I have not seen anyone attempt these yet

How should I respond? ? :( ? Both? I'll choose both  :(

I'm tempted to buy them just to re-glue them together to be used AS GOD INTENDED.

In fact vanilla TIE's are so hard to come by this would probably save me money.

Really? I can get you them for £9.

I meant Vanilla Interceptors. I can't think straight. Am in a glass case of emotion and can't type properly.

I understand completely duke.

What have they done to that interceptor? Have they glued 2 halves of bombers on to the wings?

aye ;O....

MY EYES ARE BLEEEDING AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH !!!

Oh..oh my. I give this guy credit for some good looking ship cards though. Spared no expense.

The M3 Warhead whatever is completely worthless and the Tie Bomb/kamikaze would completely ruin the game and make it as fun as homework. The other three could work... but would you want them too? What a freakshow.

But credit where its due, he did a pretty **** good job with the models. The game mechanics need a ton of work.

The condition is described as "New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item."

While interesting, I feel like there is some copyright infringement here, at least in the printing of and making money off of the cards themselves...and then depending if he created his own materials or reused the parts that he bought from FFG for the rest.

First off, I have a hard time imagining having enough disposable income to cut apart THAT many ships.

Second, I kinda feel like he simply broke off pieces of other ships, then glued them to the sides of the different ties. I mean, the big gun is a Tie fighter with YT-1300 turrets glued to the sides.

But even though the card content isn't very well thought out, the cards themselves look legit.

I appreciate the effort, but those look terrible to me.

The biggest problem I have with them is that he didn't even try to modify the parts. The M1's cockpits still have the wing pylons on the opposite sides of the balls, and he didn't even bother to move the mount from the cockpit to the center wing. The M2's wing guns are just Falcon guns, which is not only lazy, but also inaccurate. M3's wing missile pods are nt only TIE Bomber pods, but he didn't even bother to remove the unused pylon nor the bomb chute on either of them. M4 has no nose cone, and he just stuck the unused Y-wing engine thrust vetral on the back instead of making a new engine piece. The M5's booster engine is just a Y-wing's engine turned around, and it looks like he didn't even bother to drill the center out or put pylons on it.

It's all lazy work designed to get them together as quickly as possible so he could make some money on eBay. I wouldn't pay $5 for the set.

at least the "warhead" kinda looks cool.

the others though... eh...

But not great workmanship either.

Ew.

Someone please, go take his tools, sever his internet connection, and cut up his credit card.

Then reassemble them in various ways and sell them on ebay.

Sorry

Couldn't resist

Ah yes, the feared one wing tie fighter. Incredibly potent as long as it was not required to fight in atmosphere

hm... these are not the TIE's I am looking for...

Also, by the lack of sales.

Based on the number of ships he destroyed to build these, I think he can easily argue he's not making money here.

Also, by the lack of sales.

Maybe I didn't phrase it correctly and maybe you're not being serious, but it's not about whether he is actually making money -- attempting to do so off of someone else's game system is enough. He is welcome to sell models he has purchased and converted, etc..He also can't create his own models (from his own material) and essentially sell them as expansions, but I don't think he's doing that here. However, he can't borrow the IP to print cards and then sell them for his own gain (potential or not).

Side note: Ironically enough with regard to copyright infringement, I had heard that one of the reasons FFG let Wizkids use the rules for Attack Wing is because FFG (knowingly or unknowingly) infringed on Wizkids dial copyright first (as can be seen here where they credit it: http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_nrep.asp?eidm=120)

These...do not look good. Especially that poor squint with the bombers attatched to it.
And that M1 card? All focuses become crits? I don't think so!
