What would you like to see in future expansions?

By JoinTheDarkSide, in X-Wing

My wish list:

Imperial-

  • GAT-12 Skipray Blast Boat
  • TIE Avenger
  • XG-1 Starwing Assault Gunboat
  • Scimitar Assault Bomber
  • All the Bounty Hunters from Episode V:ESB... and their ships

Rebel-

  • YT-2400
  • Rebel cards for Bounty Hunters
  • Rebel card for GAT-12 Skipray Blast Boat
  • Some love for the Y-wing (IMO, Rebel Aces should have included Y-wing rather than B-wing)

What he said.

Bossk in Hound's Tooth, Dengar in Punishing One, Dash Rendar in Outrider, and Zuckuss in Mist hunter (4 Lom as crew). I would also like an Ace Azzameen YT-1300 and Sabra title card.

Don't forget the Mist Hunter could have 4LOM as a pilot as well and Leebo as a pilot for the Outrider. I think the reason we have yet to see these is mainly because the developers are having a hard time finding other pilots that have used these ships. Kath and Krassis were easy because the Firespray 31 is an iconic ship. That being said I really hope they dig up some pilots because I too want to see these ships!

How about a ground based system like the attack on Hoth? I guess altitude would have to be dealt with in some manner or another... Space stations and attacks on Gas mines would be interesting as well...

I do think a third faction that either side could "hire" might be interesting, mercenaries or the like...

I'd also like to see scenarios involving space mines like in the TIE fighter PC game... Lasers, missiles, ion, and torpedo types... Would make the board a little more complicated...

Tie Avenger, Assault Gunboat, IG-2000, Punishing One, Hounds Tooth w/custom Z-95, Mist Hunter, Virago, capital ships for imperials, torp. slot for Tie Defender. Bomb and crew slot for Y-wing, Outrider w/new counter measure card slot, K-wing w/plasma torp. and another mine, Wilde Karrde, T-wing, Skipray Blastboat, Braha'tok, Jade Shadow w/custom Z-95. Chiss Clawcraft. I think that is a good start.

In this order:

1) Prequel Ships

2) Clone Wars Ships

3) Rebels Ships

4) More EU Ships

5) Sequel Ships

WANT!

Virago_-_SWGTCG.jpg

That… doesn't even look like it's from Star Wars...

I would want to see

1. Imperial Aces 2: TIE Advanced and TIE Bomber.

2. A crew or upgrade card that allows for some token or action sharing for Imperials only

3. An upgrade that allows you to swap missile or torpedo upgrade slots for bomb upgrade slots.

4. A card that allows you to drop bombs at range 2 as an action.

Bring on the Shadows of the Empire ships!

Well good for it. I didn't mean that I don't believe this exists in the star wars universe, i meant that it looks like it could belong to a completely different mythos. Nothing in the design aesthetic says "Star Wars".

Fixing existing glitches in the system.

Imperial equivalent of droids.

Rebel bombers.

More pirate/smugglers for both sides till they have enough to either

(a) officially make rules for a 3rd/4th faction, or

(b) simply have enough ships for players to make their own pirate/smuggler factions (while still flying under the 'official' Imperial/Rebel flags.)

IG-88 and friends.

And...

Space Slugs.

I am super happy that (so far) they have not released a new ship that makes any older ships obsolete. I would be pretty happy with anything as long as they keep that up!

Other than what has already been posted I want to see some prequal ships....and im impatiently chomping at the bit to see a capital ship version of the game.

Executor!

Just kidding....but seriously....

I really like R22s idea of "hiring" neutral ships. You wouldn't even have to make a separate loyalty card like he described.

Just change the pilot cards to reflect two costs rather than the one already there.

There is a modified version of the standard TIE-fighter, wich looks a bit like an Advanced TIE, but can carry a BOMB...... That's it, a Tie with a Bomb.

WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEM!

  • Bomb upgrade slot for Y-Wings (like the passenger upgrade we'll get for the Bs in Rebel Aces)

That painting doesn't look Star Wars. The ship itself does look pretty Star Warsy. It's a rich mans ship. Part of the design feels like a classier version of the Firespray.

Mostly, it is a SUPER advanced Tie Fighter. It has system upgrades, a tougher hull, and is faster/more maneuverable. Also, being within R1 of the ship is a bad idea for an attacker because of its "buzz" droids. In the game, I'd want them to have an even better dial than the Tie Fighter (basically add 1 banked and straight to the Interceptor dial), 4 hull, and a system slot.

Maybe a tie hunter would make sense.

I personally would love a Pulsar Skate model... But not the comics version but rather the novel version

Also, I would love to see new factions come out. Would be very interesting to see a faction such as Corellians who used x-wings as well as ties.

To me the StarViper's design aesthetic clashes with all of the current ships... Like most prequel ships. I hope they never release them...

As for the Pulsar Skate, it seems the version from the comics looks a lot more like the existing ships than the novel version.

I'm very happy with the ships FFG has chosen so far as they all share the same aesthetic qualities. I'm hoping they stick to this.

Hopefully episode 7 will bring us new ships that fit this same look, and not more prequel-style sleek looking stuff.

I think the following ships would fit with the current lineup :

I like running 3-ship builds with upgrades and would love to see them become more competitively viable.

I also want to try (and nothing is stopping me from doing this today) playing on a larger area, maybe 4'x4' or 5'x5', with double or triple the asteroids. I find this would allow more strategic maneuvering before the first engagement. At the moment, confrontation often starts at round 2 or 3, unless both players slow-play. I want to maneuver around asteroids and try and force the initial confrontation to happen where and how I want it to. I want to have time to try and actually get a flanker into position behind the enemy.

I would like to see clone wars stuff

It is not a prequel ship. It come from Shadows of the Empire, which takes place between the 5th and 6th movie. Here is the standard paint job... looks like an imperial ship to me...

The Moldy Crow (from Dark Forces) seems to clash a little too. I think it's a good thing. It gives the game a little variety, and (for those that played the video games) puts a smile on the fan's face.

I never said it was a prequel ship :P "Strawberries, like most apples, are red." [/semantics]

I am fully aware that it is a matter of personal taste but I just don't think it looks like it comes from the Star Wars universe...
