Elrond, Legolas, Glorfindel [Spirit]

Tri-sphere. How would you construct a deck around these guys?

This is one of the most powerfull hero combinations.

It's a recipe for a power deck, if not only semi-themetic

I played tri-sphere for a long time and used these guys alot.

Some (obvious?) tips:

-Rivendell blade for all!

-Light of Valinor & Asfaloth

-Unexpected courage + vilya

-Arwen + defender of rammas.

edit: typos!

oh and maybe even a better tip for tri-sphere is:

don't add any card above a cost of 2.

unless you want to uses deck slots for songs.

as you will rarely save up enough resources with all those 1 cost power cards.

but that's my exp.

I was thinking about including a few copies of Song of Wisdom and Rivendell Minstrel to ensure Lore capability for Glorfindel and Legolas. I would like to be able to keep allies like Gildor and Haldir, but it might prove tricky.

I've been using Elrond/Aragorn [Lore]/Glorfindel for the most part so far, but I often defer to being the healer in group play and can rarely help out in other players' combat. Legolas would help with Ranged and give me access to cards like Rivendell Blade, as you mention.

Aragorn does have a nice threat reduction ability, though... tricky!

In a group it's easier, as you don't have to fit all the stuff you need (questing/def/att) in one deck.

Then you should focus on 1 or 2 of these, while your mates do the other things needed.

With this hero line-up, I would drop questing mostly.

So drop the minstel idea is my advise.

As they cost 3, which would require a song, which they can dig up? Paradox = not handy.

You can still chip in on progress anyway by killing stuff with Legolas & LoV & asfaloth on Glorfindel.

Use Elrond as main defender with Unexp. courage attached.

If not needed, you can vilya for free cards.

Drop the high cost allies like haldir & gildor, unless you add stargazer to your deck to use with Vilya.

I've tried this combo many times, but it worked out just once or twice. not worth it imo.

And lastly, with access to Spirit & Council of elrond, I would not worry much about threat reset with aragron.

Key is to realize a few things:

A) resource acceleration on elrond (as he can pay for all allies) (ie steward) - best way to get this is a song but it's key or get someone else to play on you

B) use light or valinor on glorfindel and asfalofth

C) use UE on Elrond first then legolas (Cram on elrond as we'll)

D) burning brand on elrond and vilya (gives him spirit as well) and gondorian shield

E) blades all around

How you okay deck is:

Quest with glorfindel and LOV and allies (Arwen is key)

Defend with elrond and ready him

Attack with legolas and elrond and glorfindel

It's a killer deck especially with usual legolas tricks (ie hands upon bow) and also if you want to stargaze and use vilya. Personally I like vilya more for the spirit icon and also use it with cram instead of UE as you can use elrond to attack or defend twice.

Use master of forge to get all these attachments

I use all three of these guys in my two decks I play two-handed with. Elrond, Spirit Glorfindel and Loragorn in one deck and Legolas, Elrohir and Elladan in the other. Works so well, I don't however (and I'm sure many will critisize this) use Vilya at all. I find it unnecessary and not very good.....

Are you playing with a single core?

Between Vilya and Elf-stone I would throw in some costly allies to help beef up your line. Glorfindel, Beorn, and the like. Resourceful can be an option as well. It would take some finagling but you can get it for free with Vilya.

With Imladris Stargazer, Master of the Forge, and a couple of Unexpected Courages it doesn't take much finagling at all.

Yep but I bought a handful of cards online that included 1 copy of every card that only has 2 copies in the core set so I run x3 Test of Will, x3 Hasty Stroke, x3 Steward of Gondor, x3 Feint and x3 Sneak Attack. Just the one core though and all other player cards that have been released thus far.

The reason I ask is that Elrond with Vilya becomes an insane engine with a few extra cards. You want Stargazer to make sure all of the Vilya draws count, and since he is such a good defender you also want an Unexpected Courage (or 3!) on him. Master of the Forge lets you hunt up Vilya, Burning Brand and the UCs - and let's you shuffle your deck so that Stargazer is always looking at fresh cards. Put in a Protector of Lorien to make good use of the extra unique cards.

Glaurung has an elf video where he gets Gildor and Gandalf into play essentially for free, and that's not uncommon for me. You can run a bunch of 5 cost singleton allies in your deck and get them into play for free regardless of their sphere.
