Running through ties with the transport
Curse science fact! Long live science fiction!
most definitley, I prefer fun over fact. But that doesn't change the fact Dodging a Transport isn't near as easy as people say it would be. That doesn't change the fact ramming Ties with a transport is fun and fact.

At least I'll always have Austin Powers and the Steam Roller to keep me happy as I watch Transports plowing through Tie Swarms.
I wrote a Sci-Fi book once. Near broke my brain realizing how unfun spacebattles should look.
Yes, but pilots fly at human perception levels. If a transport is coming at you head on there's no juking you can do to avoid getting hit.(Granted I have yet to see anything Star Wars that realistically handled the speeds spaceships supposedly move at. Because frankly, you would never physically see the ships. But mentally picturing such things is, for lack of a better word, really trippy. So I see why they don't. I mean, try to visualize an object at 19800 mph. Your eyes see at 30 Frames per second, meaning you would see the object at 30 points in a second, each of which is 288 meters apart. Most likely all you'd see would be a big very faint gray blur, if anything at all."Transport is slow" in comparison to the interceptors, fighters, bombers etc that are zooming around. It's getting late here so probably didn't explain properly.
Too busy laughing at the steam roller scene.
Ah, now I get it. Thank you for explaining.
(Although things do look unique at .9C when space starts to bend at it's thousands of miles per second...)
Read the Honor Harrington series. It has the best space battles that I have ever read.
They aren't bad. But Honor is annoying... I have trouble enjoying spending time in her head.
There are several instances, from memory in ROTJ, of small fighters running into - and being instantly destroyed - against the Nebulon Bs and the bridge of the Star Destroyer, during the Battle of Endor.
There's no instance, that I recall, of any ship-to-ship collisions. Even Biggs didn't physically affect Luke's X-Wing when he got all 'sploded.
What about the trench run, Mauler Mithel or backstabber runs into vader after getting shot by Han
Oops somebody said that already
Edited by AdmiralThrawnThere's also the two Star Destroyers that collide chasing the Falcon off Hoth.
But we'll have to wait for the inevitable Star Destroyer to be added to the game to see how that plays out
