It's not publicly available yet (only released to store owners to run their promo event with.)
It will be released "later this year" for general purchase.
Common theory says it will probably be a POD product including everything except the fancy dice and acrylic hearts.
As for further co-op supplements or expansions, it certainly seems to be something a lot of the fans are already looking forward to (myself included, I must admit.) However, FFG has not made any announcements regarding such plans.
Have you read somewhere FFG annoucing they will release Forgotten Souls later in 2014 (perhaps a direct link)?
Because im thinking about ordering it via ebay.
they will sell a coop thing "later in the year" and will "continue to produce thing for coop variant"
but I think this coop later will be better, right now, it a "one shot" and nothing more
I would say that Forgotten Souls would be sold at GenCon 2014 and after it as PODs from FFG store.
And for everyone I must say I had a chance to play it and had a lot of fun with it. The exploration theme and feeling of the game reminded me of Descent 1e when every room before the door was opened was a suprise. Great thing is the Loot tracker so You find great equipment durinig the adventure and gaining expirience. That's a good, simple adventure that can be played in 2-3 hours with some replayability (rooms are random but the staring room always is the same and You need to go throue rooms with numbers 1,2 and 3 - final fight). but still I liked it very much.

They said Forgotten Soulds would be available for purchase later in the original announcement. It probably won't include the fancy dice and acrylic hearts though, so if that's a factor for you eBay may not be a total waste.
Sadly, the Game night kit haven't acrylic fatigue
Great
The fancy dice or acrylic hearts won't be a problem. Its the difficulty of having to wait to get hands on and try a coop module.
Hopefully they will only release new products supporting cooperative play from then on.
....Or at least an equal amount.
I don't think it would be the same amount. I think more one or two a year, and I'm almost sure it would be Print On demand, so a bit pricey

Technically, FFG hasn't made any promises about future co-op products. (That I've seen, anyway.)
Lots of people are really hoping they'll do more, and FFG is known for listening to their fans.
But if they actually said somewhere officially that more co-op was on the way, I never saw it.
Well then the most natural road from here would be for FFG to release a Descent 2nd editions equivalent of "road to legend".
This time converting past modules to a cooperative mode

I don't think it will happen, coop modules are only "another way" to play, nothing more

Also in an interview at that las vegas trade show.
Edited by zwara81Found this in a quote on boardgamegeek.com taken from FFG's site Janurary 1st 2014:
"Even if you don't attend a Game Night at your local retailer, the adventure included in Season One 2014 Descent Game Night Kits, Forgotten Souls, will be available to you via In-House Manufacturing after the kits are rotated out of circulation later in 2014".
So, anyone know if there will be any more support or availability for the Descent Game Night Kits for Organized Play Season 2?
As far as future support--in addition to the above quote fealthas found from the initial press release, a Mr. Christian T. Petersen seemed to imply there would be more support for co-op Descent coming down the road in this BGG post:
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/article/15355828#15355828
"We have exciting plans for the Descent: JitD brand and line -- of which the co-op scenarios is one of the most recent aspects (and an awesome one, I agree). "
...it's very lightly implied, but I'm interpreting it as being positive!
Got my copy of forgotten souls today.. time to arrange a game night.
Must say I'm disappointed with the rest of the kit... it costs more than a LCG kit and contains no collectables. Plastic tokens and sparkly dice are not worth collecting and the player mats are cardboard stock with no artwork.
The only thing worth getting is the scenario which will be available cheaper later in the year.
I hope FFG change the contents before the next kit.
I also bought a copy of the forgotten souls kit today.... could'nt wait
The comment from Christian T. Petersen on boardgamegeek.com about coop-scenarios must = there will be more in the future
Can I ask how you fellas got your copies? Through an FLGS, I assume?
bought my copy via Ebay.

Currently there are three ways to get it, that I know of:
1) be a store owner
2) win it as a prize for participating in the Games Night event at your FLGS
3) eBay.
Option number 1 may have expired by now - I wouldn't know as I'm not a store owner.
From what I hear, option number 2 may also be subject to how your FLGS has chosen to distribute prizes. I don't think FFG issued any hard and fast rules about that, nor would they be able to enforce such rules anyway.
What is the this? what am i missing?
I expect to see 3 of these each year, one for each OP season, released via POD. Same amount of content as the MoM PODs so should be the same price.
I'd be very surprised if additional solo content wasn't also released, to make use of content not available in the core set.
I'm really liking this new co-op variant. There is a sense of exploration that you don't get in the regular game, but it is also hard as hell! I've run a couple solo 2 hero games and find it very deep and exciting, but I've found it very challenging. But the Loot system is great, I like the monster AI and appreciate the replayability. However, I'm getting real sick of drawing The Trash Heap encounter so early on in the campaign. That Shadow Dragon really halts your progress. Wondering if things even out a little better with 3 or 4 heroes.
I was also wondering if when a hero turn is interrupted by a new encounter card that activates a monster group after setup, do you continue the hero turn or start a new round with the heroes having a fresh activation? Those cases where monsters basically go twice in the same round really make it difficult to keep any kind of momentum, not to mention avoiding a lot of damage.
