I was looking through the CRB and I was looking at the Vibrosword,

it grants Defensive 1 just wanted to know if there was a way that I could bump that up through attachments or if there were other weapons that had a higher defensive value and what books i could find those in so I could buy them.

At the moment there isn't as far as I can find published a weapon with a Defensive rating higher than 1, nor any attachments that improve this - of course I can be wrong and I don't own the JoY adventure so I don't know what is in there.

I think the absolute max you can get at the moment from equipment is from the Personal Deflector Shield, which is only 2 defense. So the sword, or alternatively heavier armors that grant a flat 1 defense all the time is probably a good enough choice, given that I think Deflector Shields die run out of power after... 10 minutes?

If you really need to make it harder to be hit though, you're really better off grabbing talents that let you upgrade incoming attacks at the cost of strain if you're in combat-focused careers, or if you're force-sensitive, grabbing the Sense commit upgrade, as well as the defense upgrades at the bottom of Exile.

Take one of the specs that offers Jury-Rigged (gadgeteer) and use it to boost melee defense by one. Then you can boost the Defensive quality to 2.
