SO id add a -2 point cost for the second modification on the title ... and all would be fine.

hence Shield Upgrade + Hull Upgrade for 5 points ... this are more the 'naturally costs' - we all know that modifications are overcosted.

And with THIS title card the Targeting Computer as second modification would be without costs. That would be fair.

Hence 4 x Royal with Hull Upgrade and Targeting System for 100 points.

This would even be competitive. And an option for PTL.

I wouldn't preview it half a year before it's release date, causing everyone to have picked everything apart long before it actually came out. Let people know it's two interceptors, tell them what's in it a few weeks before hand so they buy when the new shiny syndrome is hot.

Thing is that many like Vader (despite the ship), with a 'free barrel-roll' this new pilot would be a sort of 'vader-lite'.

And if the points were right I'd sure select him at times.

The second one would be sort-of similar to Dark Curse albeit in a sturdier ship but with a lesser ability. (focus still works)

Both EPTs that come with the defender should have been in ACES. Add that to the list.

I think the concept for Aces is just fine, honestly. I'd tweak things a little but keep it fundamentally as-is:

- Lorrir didn't need the stress for his twisty bank. It's effectively a limited PtL, plenty of the new Rebels manage such limited PtLs without having stress.

- Targeting Computer would have been fine at 1 point. It honestly doesn't add much over focus, and still costs an action.

- I think that Kanos would have been perfectly good if his ability didn't have the range limitation. I kinda want to give him PtL, but think it would have been too much if he could combine both focus and an auto-hit.

- Royal Guard TIE giving a 1- or 2-point discount on the second modification would have helped offset the "Just make it more expensive" problem with mods.

Otherwise, I think the set is generally fine. The additions aren't bad in and of themselves, they're just underwhelming compared to everything we've seen since. I think it's pretty clear now that there was a sea change in design concerning how to approach unique pilots and their abilities that happened between Imperial Aces and and the Transport X-wings.
