Whisper is the consummate Stealth fighter. PS9 with VI to move last, Cloaking nastiness, shoot first, gain a focus token if you hit. Use advanced cloak to re-cloak immediately after shooting. You could even drop a hull upgrade or stealth on him/her.

Advanced Cloaking Device is a modification, so you won't be able to combine it with Hull Upgrade or Stealth Device. But you're right that Whisper + Veteran Instincts + Rebel Captive + Advanced Cloaking Device will be a pretty nice combo.

Nope, Recon Specialist kicks in on an action and the focus for a successful attack is not an action. Recon may be useful once cloaked if you are still allowed actions whilst cloaked (can't remember). If you are, that would potentially allow Whisper to attack with a focus and have up to two for defense.

Am I the only one who likes Expose and something like DTF on a companion ship. 6 red dice at R1?! Hopefully having moved into a spot where your opponent can't shoot back.

I really like Targeting Computer on Night Beast so you can Focus Target Lock so easily.

Except that having a focus token to modify 5 dice is better than rolling 6 naked dice (0.75 * 5 > 0.5 * 6).

Focus is always a more efficient and cheaper action than expose.

Unless you have a 2nd action. Or against a target with a high number of defense dice (1), evade and focus.
