Imperial Navy Stats

By RebelDave, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Has anyone put together stat blocks for the capitol ships of the Imperial Navy?

The likes of Star Destroyers and such?

Is this even needed? Would you simply use stats for a Nebulon B, and assume its size and power are sufficient to represent the Empires fleet? (Due to scale)

Cheers

There are stats for all the major Imperial ships in Age of Rebellion, which should be coming out in a few months.

A handful of Star Destroyers are statted up in the Age of Rebellion Beta. I don't have it, and I'm not sure others who do are willing to share. Age of Rebellion core isn't too far out at this point, so if you planned to grab that, you'll get those stats then.

Otherwise, they are mostly just plot devices. I don't think duking it out in capital ships is really in the scope of Edge of the Empire.

Fantastically Straight Forward and Simple Answers!

Thanks very much!

Basically, as long as your players are in a slow, unarmed (at least no missiles/torpedoes/bombs) light or medium freighter, ISDs are death incarnate, one or two hits is usually enough, perhaps three... If your players are in small fighters they might actually stand a chance, as long as they avoid getting hit, one hit equals death in most cases.

As has been stated elsewhere, and I think also in the CRB, ISDs and similarly sized capital ships could easily be used as terrain and numerous turret installation opponents rather than one big opponent.

I think one thing is clear. No matter how unnecessary, how inappropriate or simply how unlikely it is to actually be used in a game based around small groups of PCs... Everybody wants to look at the official stats for an Imperial Star Destroyer and go "ooooh".

Dangerous Covenants gives us the Neutron Star Bulk Cruiser, and some kind of battleship. They also give us some heavier freighters (like the YV-775). Their ie also a heavy corvette in Suns of Fortune. In theory, all of these could be the starships of a PC group at some point - not everybody toole around in a patrol boat or light freighter forever.

Just for fun we did a simulation of 'Group' vs Star Destroyer in our flying space bus,

Yes, we did die, but we did cause it massive amounts of system strain as the poor thing was up to something +4 difficulty and about 5-6 black dice from shields!

Basically, get a lot of friends you're not particuarly attached to, fly happy laps around it, eventually it will run out of power and stop working
