Shadows of Nerekhaa

By opcubby, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

I've read the rules several times and just can't figure this one out.

The rules state that "As an open or close a door action, while adjacent to the gate lever, a hero may remove one or both locked doors from the map."

Since i'm playing the overlord i have some issues with that.

1. There doesn't seem to be any reason for the heroes to remove the locked gate to the study. On the map there's 3 search tokens but they have stars on them, so I don't know what they do, or if they are suppose to even be there. It doesn't say anything in the set up about these "search" tokens.

2. I have to place my Zombies in the study to start, well if the gate never opens they are trapped and can't get out ever, so i would be down a group of monsters.

I must be missing something and i know you guys can help. I want to run this at out next session, because i like the idea of neither group knowing if the executioner is corrupt or not, seems like fun.

Thanks everyone for the help.

Sorry all I need to delete this thread but don't know how, I've reported this with the correct heading

Search tokens with a star on them indicate potential locations of the unique search token. One of these will end up being the unique token, the rest will just be regular search tokens. The quest rules should spell out how to pick exactly where the unique token goes.

The unique search token, if used in a quest, is almost always required for completing quest objectives, therefore the heroes will have to enter to study to get the unique token, if that's where all the stars are.
