R&D Interface

By Dungy2, in Android: Netrunner Rules Questions

Hello all...

If I had multiple copies of R&D interface installed, would they act separately?

Like, IF I made a successful run with Maker's Eye and had all 3 R&D interfaces installed would I then have access to:

1 card (successful run on R&D)

+2 cards (successful run on R&D with Makers Eye)

+1 card (additional card for cards accessed successful run on R&D with Makers Eye)

+1 card (additional card for cards accessed successful run on R&D with Makers Eye)

+1 card (additional card for cards accessed successful run on R&D with Makers Eye)

making a total of 6 cards accessed?

That's crazy right??

That's correct. It also stacks with Medium.

Correct and crazy until you hit all three snares in one go!

One thing to bear in mind with multiple accesses is that each must be resolved in turn before proceeding onto the next.

For R&D this means going from the top card down (you can't choose to access the 2nd card before the first) and access decisions (e,g, trashing) can only be made once for each access (so no backtracking to trash something if everything else accessed turns out to be ICE).

It's crazy, yes, but it's also an investment. The install costs are significant, the corp likely has been put on notice to protect R&D, and while you're spending all that time and money on the "win-more" cards, the corp can probably score some agendas while you're ramping up.

Yeah i hear you...

I'd like to try and exploit it. I just opened my future proof data pack and there's a lot of "attack R&D" cards in it which look like fun...

I mean... it could get a bit silly with how much the corp may protect his R&D if i'm accessing 6 cards on each turn...

And I love the idea of combining it R&D Interface with medium!!!

The Snare thing IS an issue... but i would probably run into those at some point... i guess the scary thing is running into them ALL in one run!! :o

Just remember, when Medium hits the table along with RDI, you're now *definitey* putting the corporation on notice to protect R&D. Medium benefits from multiple runs, and the corp can often make it prohibitively expensive.

Medium benefits from multiple runs, and the corp can often make it prohibitively expensive.

And ****, they should! Same goes for Keyhole.

Mind you, if you're playing Parasite and Datasucker, you could potentially neuter that cost >.>
