Just wondering what the speculation is on the effects of ions against these monsters... Are normal Ions ineffective or do they require 5-10 hits? Anyone got any ideas?

Looking at the sheer volume of ion tokens in the Tantive, I'd guess it does more than just drain energy. That wouldn't need tokens.
