International Tabletop Gaming Day is tomorrow, Saturday April 5th, 2014. Anyone going to the local game store to promote X-wing miniatures? I know I am! Store owner asked me to use his demo set. Hopefully we can recruit some great people into the addiction.
International Tabletop Gaming Day
Me! They're giving out Munchkin promos at my FLGS, so I'll be going for those, and staying for the X-wing
Tomorrow's boardgae day? Good thing it happens to be normal X-wing day at my game store of choice
yup and Yup... board game day + x-wing = win win scenario.
Yep demoing both X-Wing in addition to another game.
I'll be attending my shop's meet, but no X-Wing or miniatures games this morning since they dominate the typical weekend lineups of what is normally done anyway. Luckily my league starts at the end of this month, so I can finally play regularly! :3
Went to an X-wing tourney today and pulled 1st place for tabletop day. Then to a BBQ and boardgames.
Welcome to the Land of tomorrow - Australia
Will be going to a games store that is opening a new location today. Not sure if x-wing will be played but will have a good time being out for the day.
For all you Brooklynites, International Tabletop day event being held at Twenty sided store in Williamsburg, Brooklyn @ 11 am-11pm. See

We'll be playing at the local store. It's a good chance to try out the mission that came with Imperial Aces, and hopefully show off to some new potential players!
well sadly I will not go. Because:
A) you need a store somewhere near you...
B) I have loads of correction work lying around to fix

A) Libraries, books stores, coffee shops, mall cafeterias work too.
B) IEPs and such were put on hold. Sounds like you need a TA/student teacher.
I'll be at my FLGS, demoing X-Wing from 12 to 2:30, then Sentinels of the Multiverse from 3 to 5, and then Firefly the boardgame from 5 to 7.
It's going to be a looooong day, but a fun one.

Well here in the Netherlands wargaming is not a mainstream or widely accepted hobby so by the time I would be halfway through explaining what I'd want to do they'd either have laughed me out of the place or called the cops on me...
I really have no idea what an IEP is meant to be sorry. And on the subject of TA's or student teachers: you might be right :-)
Went to my local store today and it was closed. I was really disappointed because according to the international table top website they were running an event.
I went along to my local event with the intention of having my first ever game of X-Wing, but didn't see any being played. Instead I got to try out several boardgames which I've never played before (including Settlers of Catan), so it wasn't a great loss.
The store manager at my FLGS asked if I could demo X-Wing, so I am! Good thing I have multiples of nearly everything

Man...
If I could make it...
*crosses fingers*
Spent a few hours playing Star Wars The Card Game and X-Wing with a friend.
I tried a new way to introduce X-Wing.
I set up several 30ish point ships, a couple each of several types of ships with an upgrade or two. The idea was that if there were two people playing and someone else came along and wanted to play, they could just choose a ship and join in. I think it worked pretty well. Showed several Warhammer players how easy it is to pick up, anyway.
We played 200 points per team X-wing game today along with a round of 1775.
Imperials won
Americans won
I made a showing at my store for ITGD... Played a 100 point game as Imperials, and won. Then the 3 missions from the starter set as Imperials. Won the Senator mission, then Luke got away, and finally my TIE's got shot down trying to collect the Satellites. Then 4 more nrml 100 point games, and won all those. A full day of X-wing, and I came home wanting more... LOL.
Cheers
Had no idea it was ITGD... Don't think the LGS had any advertising up regarding it. Anyway... did do some gaming but it was "Check Your Six" not X-wing.
Ended up not playing with my friend as intended, but basically teaching/demoing to three guys between the two of us, so it turned out good.

IEP: Individualized Education Plan. Here in the States, the Federal government forces schools to implement individual plans for students who struggle in school. The paperwork required for this process is long, repetetive, and generally obnoxious. The paperwork process requires so much time that other parts of instruction get less attention. In essence, teachers spend more time filling out government paperwork to prove that they are working, leaving less time for them to be teachers.
