Astrid Reversals?

By aryanufsnoob, in UFS Rules Q & A

If I have blocked an attack and I go to play a Weapon as a reversal as Astrids Static ability allows:

First, is moy opponent allowed to negate me playing the attck as a reversal;

Second, when does the static abiltiy allow it to be played as a reversal;

finally, would I be able to play the weapon attack as a reversal again, (once it is negated) based on when the static ability allows the attack to be played as a reversal?

1) Your opponent may negate your reversal, at which point it returns to your hand and you cannot play that specific card as a reversal, but may use a different one.

2) The static ability allows it to be played as a reversal at the normal time, after blocking that attack.

3) I think i covered this in 1.

But the problem is that an attack that is PLAYED as a Reversal is different from playing a reversal.

A reversal is not played it is revealed from the hand, if it is negated it is never placed in the card pool and therefore never played, but since my "attack may be PLAYED" it is written as if it is already past the part of negation and the ability itself must be negated(which it cant because of it being a Static ability)

It is as if the static ability is giving the card the ability to be played, it is just that the static ability also gives when the attack can be played(when a reversal usually would be played).

Lets just pause this conversation for a few hour until the rules are posted later on today Tuesday. They should be up by 6pm CST, and should cover this question in detail.

Thank you, it's too early in the morning right now and his response hurt my brain.

1. Your opponent may negate your reversal. You may not play another reversal.

2. The static ability allows it to be played as a reversal during the reversal step, as per any normal card with reversal printed on it.

3. No you may not attempt to play the same attack as a reversal. Nor can you play a different attack as a reversal.

4. ???

5. Profit
