SCORE!

I was in a hippie sandwhich shop here in Austin and saw a 1st edition Star Wars RPG HC. The rest of the bookshelf was covered with paperbacks that I guess people left in the store and never came back for. I asked the smiling sunshine dreadlock girl behind the counter if I could take a book, if I promised to read it and she said, "Of course you can!"

So I grabbed it, said thanks and left. The very next day I found a copy of the sourcebook in half price books for $10.

If only Lottery tickets worked this way for me.

An odd score, but a score nonetheless. WEG isn't perfect, but they did some nifty stuff, and its cool to go back and find the original gem that a dozen EU writers have since wrapped in duty.

I had it when I was a kid and loved it. It was our last RPG, before gaming took a back seat to chasing girls and going to parties, for a few years. My nostalgia button was pushed. I doubt I'll ever play this system, but it's fun to look through.

The one resource I may use from these books though are the mini adventure outlines in the back. They're all geared towards AoR in my opinion, but I'll eventually have my big red book and be looking for ideas.
