PotM Promo and some champ card scans

My scanner's dusty... ignore the random white specs >_>

Jon's quote incase you can't read it through his sig: "What I had I gave, what I saved I lost"

promo to the right of Jon's: Wonderworld Comics

I lack un-written-on copies of the Wonderworld promos, but maybe someone else will scan their copies. Omar's champ card was printed, but b/c of some issues, it's getting reprinted. Those were the only champ cards besides Hata's that were given out this weekend.

any idea what happened to Kin's (Canadian team nats champ) asset? I don't recall hearing anything about it at potm.

I believe it'll just be sent to them since they didn't go to the PotM event... but i'm pretty sure that all of last year's champ cards were printed at the same time.

They didn't have their likeness agreements in I believe.

Why is there a faded Shadowar logo on the Champ assets?

I hate the terrain rule now, I don't think the champ assets should have the terrain trait.

Game shop = Terrain.

All there is to it.

Warriors is absolutely bad ass with Zhao Daiyu**

Here I thought that Yonhair's card would just look simply...nice...

The

art

on

that

card

is

AMAZING.

Whoever's idea it was for a mobster-type picture with the sultry chick in the background. GENIOUS. PURE. GENIOUS.

I like the art (and effects) on all of these cards

john herr is beast.

That is rediculous!

How could they make a character card that broken and also have some of the best symbols in the game?

Also how could it have that ability with a 7 HS, why is it that any character that has that kind of ability has a 5 HS?

That makes no sense.

That makes me glad that I did not go because to allow that card to be immediately legal would have made me very angry.

It would have been decent if they were to give it different symbols and stats!

Because they needed another Matt Kohls (before errata) in the meta.

Funny story...

Game 1, first turn vs. Jon Herr he drops 2x Anti K' to stop my US Airbase.

Once that US Airbase hit the table, he was simply a 7/19 character, that's it.

Game 2, Airbase hit the table first turn. He got to use his character R once per turn.

Great player, balanced card. Next time when he starts reading cards in my staging area while I'm playing his room mate, I'm slapping his hands though.

Game balance.

When you start stacking champion cards one on top of another you can get some pretty dumb interactions going.

As it was... this past weekend, 6 rounds of tournament play, only terrain I ever saw that wasn't mine was a lynette's copying mine to blow mine up.

(Sassy play by Umigame that I have to give him props for)

I really do love the Terrain rule, if just from a flavor stand point.

But yeah, there are some really stupid interactions that the rule fixes.

Also, the PoTM really should have been a terrain.

I love the new Terrain rule. It gives actual use to the keyword. Nice aspect taken from how Field Spells work in Yugioh...probably one of the only aspects I actually give props to for that game.

Arch-I do agree with you on POTM. Probably the only thing on the card that could be done better is making it so that it can be more easily destroyed.

Edit: Antigoth, two questions. Was Herr completely mono-evil? And what were you playing?

I know Jon Herr was cookie-cutter Evil.

btw: Those cards have BALLIN artwork. I'm gonna think of Wonderworld Warriors tonight... :) hahaha

The artwork on PotM and Jon Herr is kinda funky.

Was it Cookie Cutter Evil in block 3 O_o?

Seeing as Rotation just happened I don't see how anything can be considered cookie cutter yet.

Herr was mono evil. He was running Midnight Launchers, Reverse Flayers, Knight Breakers, Ichi no Tachi.

His deck would set up an evil wall of control, then would Bitter/BRT his way through having attacks do a crap ton of damage, including ensuring that he triggered Knight Breaker's combo E to do massive damage.

I was running ::Dhalsim:: - All your Base are Belong to us - and bumped into him in the 5th round when we were both 3-0-1

I've got to get around to writing my tournament report yet.

Well, block 3 Evil foundations have always been good. Nothing from the new sets really compare.
The only think Evil lacked from being top tier was attacks. Now it has Midnight Launcher and Knight Breaker to say the least. Tack on that Reverse Flayer and you got some power to it. Ichi no Tachi helps too with guarding against multiples and an extra thing to win the control war.

Once again, Hybrid Evil is top tier. It will probably win Worlds for the 4th time in a row.

OP mentioned Omar's character card was printed... anyone know what it does and what the problem was with it?

What it does I don't think one can tell. It might still be under NDA.

Man...he ran 16 attacks? or was it only 3 of each?

And yes Aeon. I know what it does.

Convince me to tell you, another thing that is. =p. (you can't, really. I wouldn't spill things if Omar didn't want me to. Just know that the effect is very, very ANGRY!)

I can tell you what it is not happy.gif

Remember when Omar won Nationals 08, he said he wanted his character to be a playable 3HS or 4HS character?

Well, it's not anything like that.

They have managed to achieve throat-punching in card form?

Hey guys. Yes it's true I was running a lot of attacks, (14 to be exact). I wanted to get back to the roots of running a sizeable amount (more than 8). Anyway, I'll probably post a decklist up sometime later in the week. I will say though that I'm not sure you can call it a "cookie cutter" evil deck. When you're running Visions of Destiny and not running Ways of Punishment, that doesn't scream to me that it's a typical evil deck. Anyway, I'll post up a tourney report later.

Thanks for all the kind words on the art! I really like how everything turned out!
