MN Players

By Derbes, in X-Wing Organized Play

Hello,

Will be visiting relatives next week and wondering if I should bring my x-wing with, Will be looking to play possibly on the 16th, 17th or 18th of April. Will be in Belle Plaine, MN. Any LGM not far from there having a game one of those nights?

Any help would be appreciated!

you are smack dab in the middle of 2 (well alot more then 2) but you are going to have to drive to the Twin Cities (would recommend FFG Game center in Roseville, but in the Cities, there are lots of places that play) and I think Mankato has at least one game store that plays Xwing. I know they had posted about it once.

Hi!

Well, guess what! I live in Belle Plaine and would love to get a game or several in. I'm the district media specialist for BP, so we could plan on meeting one of those nights at the the high school media center- they have perfect sized tables for such a game too.

Otherwise, I could meet you at Legion Games in Savage/Burnsville, but if it's going to be just the two of us, might as well stay local and save the trips for both.

Let me know!

Mankato has Double Play and the Dork Den as two places I could recommend.

Jordan, MN has a new arcade and comic shop that recently opened in town called Zapp's Arcade, but I don't believe they cater to tabletop gamers.

Shakopee has Phantasy Hobbies which caters to a nice space for miniatures and other table and card games...

Legion Games is the next closest and they are probably the sure thing for gaming for people south of the metro.

Tower Games and Universe games are next closest.

The FFG Event Center is THE BEST game shop, but it's 60 minutes from my house and a bit prohibitive because of that.

Duh- I also forgot the Games by James at the Burnsville Center Mall hosts open game night on Wednesdays every week. They have a pretty cool points system they you can apply to in-store credit and promo cards... I went over there last week and play with a few guys... we only had 4, so we played 2v2 and it was fun. They start play at 5:45 until the mall closes at 9:00.

So Krohnt and I have been chatting and are potentially planning on meeting and playing next Thursday, April 17th. Currently it's just the two of us and we may just stay put in Belle Plaine. If anyone else wants to join us, let me know and we can meet at the Belle Plaine High School media center and use that space for a few games. Otherwise, we could meet people at Legion Games in Savage, MN as well. We're both free around 4:00-4:30 to start playing... we still need to lock down the details of "permissions" from our spouses too...

Another option is to meet at the Burnsville Center Mall on Wednesday to play in the Games by James organized play they have started as well. This would be more of a Plan C than anything else as we're both leaning towards playing on Thursday. I know the G by J starts at 5:45 and goes until the mall closes at 9:00 PM.

There's an X-Wing event going on at Level Up Games on the 17th. I don't know all the details but you may want to consider that.

Cool! We might, actually... it's not a school night, so it would work...

This event at Level Up Games might be farther you wanted to go. http://www.levelupgamesmn.com/map--directions.html

But, it's more of a tournament setting.

If we can manage it, we might be able to meet at Legion Games Thursday night. If derbes comes and brings his step-son (he said he's looking into it), and I bring my son who also plays, and krohnt also comes, we will have 5... can we get one more player to make it 6? That would be cool!

So how was the turn-out for the April 19th tournament at Universe Games? I was out of town and couldn't attend.

Thanks Peter and Dion, had a good time playing with you guys at Legion Games. Maybe we can meet up again when I come to visit in July.
