Quad Xs?

Rookie for blocking?

I find the x-wing are better with other ships around them. I won't put more than 2 on a squad. X-wings and Y-wing (or HWKs) have a great relationship. Ion turrets set up easy kills for X-wings.

Gold+ion

Wedge

(This leaves you with 3 points to upgrade you X-wings or upgrade your Grey to a Gold)

I see that you are shooting at all kinds of PS positions. personally, I would just run 4 reds one with shield upgrade. hes your blocker and they all shoot at ps4, taking shots before like 65% of the builds out there if not more then that. vs a swarm you are shooting before at least 5 of them.

I love the new x wing pilots and upgrades in the transport, as do many people. Have seen middle PS pilots perform well, they attract a few hits early from ace squads, but shoot before swarms. So, I put together this 4 sexy wing list:

Hobbie

Biggs

Red Squad

Red Squad

2 fives and 2 fours. leaves 4 points. could switch a red to tarn and upgrade to PS5 with R2-D6+VI or the generic R7 that apparently let's force attacker rerolls, could add R3-A2, could give all an R2 astromech, could give Biggs Elusiveness and stay at 99 or R2D2 to last a little longer.

Sound off!

Wedge

Rookie for blocking?

Throw swarm on Wedge and keep the rookie near him with a couple points left over for something else. That gives you a lot of early firepower. I love running four X-wings and there are a lot of ways to do it, and part of the fun of it for me is you have an actual flight of them.

XXXX will always be a strong archtype, regardless of the pilots you include.
You've included two of the strongest.

Finished 5th last saturday out of 20 with 4 X-wings. Was my frist tournament, only played 3 games before.

Wedge, ptl, R2 astromech

Nice Red squad, leaves you 3 points for R2s or what ever.

Looking forward to the arrival of the transport expansion then we can run four named Pilots.

This is the one to which I am leaning most heavily. With R2 astromechs on the Reds and Garven.

Right now for 4X i like the following:

Luke

Garven

Biggs

Rookie

Fly in pairs, Luke and Biggs, Garven and the Rookie. Biggs protects Luke for as long as possible, Rookie Target Locks as his action as much as possile , and Garven gives him the focus making him an awesome cleanup batter. It will get better when you can switch Luke for Wes.

What about

Rookie x 2

Biggs

Wedge + Expose?

What about

Rookie x 2

Biggs

Wedge + Expose?

Unfortunately, Expose is statistically terrible without a die modification. 4 focused dice averages more hits than 5 naked dice. Now, if you can also target lock or focus, you'll be better off, but then Wedge is still hiding behind one defense die.

As has been suggested before, some of the most powerful 4X squads are:

Wedge w/ PTL R2

Biggs

Rookie

Rookie

Wedge w/ ST

Biggs

Red

Rookie

Rookie w/ Shield

Rookie w/ Shield

Rookie w/ Shield

Rookie w/ Shield

And I'm sure there'll be more 4X squads that come out with the transport, especially since Tarn can just sub in for a Red at any point.

Biggs, Hobbie, Tarn and Porkins. Mmmyeahhh

I also played with Luke, R2F2, shield upgraden and draw there fire with 3 Rookies.

I prefer the Wedge build that I posted ealier but this one is also very solide.

I just love my x-wings :-D

I loooooooove 4 xwings. My go to ship.

The thought would be to have him hiding behind Biggs.

But admittedly, I still thinking I'm leaning toward Biggs, Garven, and 2 x Reds.
