You would make more money with 100 light freighters and pilots/crew to solidify a good smuggling ring.

It's always been pretty close for me. I can go purchase a handgun for $400-$600, which is blaster pistol range. A semi with trailor runs from $90,000 to $150,000 depending on how fancy. I look at light freighters as the equivilent of a Semi. Once you're into bigger ships I don't even try.

A semi with radar, military grade ship weapons, and armor......

I use military naval ships and aircraft for most of my pricing. I am way beyond the numbers in the book which simply don't jive in my mind. They scale fine at the personal gear level and then just make no sense at the starship level to me.
