Where in the UK can I get a sensible storage solution. I have seen the solution from KR Multicase, but was hope ing something a little cheaper.
Storage
That I do not know. I love my Plano 732 tackle box. I'd say try a sporting goods store or retailer like Wal-Mart. I'd buy one and ship it to you if it wouldn't cost an arm and a leg to ship it.
Fishing storage methods seem to be the most popular, other than the dedicated foam trays. I use several Plano trays myself, and keep them in a duffel bag big enough for both my X-Wing trays and my Star Trek Attack Wing stuff. It makes it reasonably portable, and in over a year I have yet to have a single miniature damaged in transit.

Yup I use nothing to pad mine. Them lil buggers are tough!
I use a Plano 3 level satchel box. Works great, but it is getting full!
Does anyone have any suggestions for a storage box with removable 'cups' or containers for tokens?
These pics show my case as of now. It holds everything in my Signature and still has room for all my wave 4 and Rebel Aces to come. I only keep enough small and large bases in this, the other are stored away, for the max that could be used in 100 points...so 8 small and 4 large...with a extra encase something brakes. I really like this case and it really isn't that heavy. It comes with all 5 of the plastic trays all for $40 at Wally World!

Are those containers standard or did you modify them to fit the big ships?
Everything is standard. I just used the slide-in dividers they came with. Now as far as wut I have my cards in those are just the lids to the 2 part Ultra-Pro 100 count card case. I used some comic backing boards trimmed to make the dividers to hold the small cards in 2 then I have 2 for pilots and 1 for misc. I am one of those that believes a clean and straightened ship is a happy ship.
This is what I've been using for a while now.
It's been solid - I just added 2 Aces (not shown) comfortably in here as well.
Just need to find somewhere in the UK to buy one.
I use the smallest feldherr bag with foam. I only get what I play with so it is not full yet. Holds all cards, tokens and crafts.

They occasionally do a Crivit (sp?) soft shell fishing tackle bag with 4 large internal plastic tackle boxes.
The boxes are deep enough for most fighters and I have both my Imps and Rebs in two of the larger boxes and with a bit of modification have manged to get the range markers in another.
The ship/pilot cards can then be put in small Really Usefull boxes (0.7l I think) and the damage cards fit in the tackle boxes.
The 2 smaller side pouch boxes are excelent for storing counters and dice.
The only drawback is that the Shuttle, Falcon and Slave are too big for these boxes. A trip to Hobbycraft though should get you a deeper plastic box that will fit in the bag.
I have 3 of these now and use them for everything. The plastic inserts make great storage for pretty much any 25mm figures and at £18 they are a decent price.
I noticed that they were in my local Lidl this week too so go have a look.

Oh. My. Gawd!
All those parts touching, loose in the bins, just free to bounce around all willy nilly like... Anarchy! Anarchy and chaos...
Heh, sorry guys, you may continue.
Ya know, sense I am here and all. Here is a picture I have, just showing how nice a neat everything is.

Really like this case, what is the Plano model no.

There is at least three retailers who sell their products in the UK: http://www.feldherr.net/uk/feldherr_store_locator/
This is the one I bought:
Plano Molding 1363 Stow N Go Toolbox
This is the one I compared it to:
1374-01 Four by 3750 StowAway Rack System
http://planomolding.com/product.php?BCCID=110&PID=645
I liked the second option, because it has flip-up compartments in the top lid and has 4 pull out trays instead of 3. The draw back to the second option is that it has 4 shallow trays; where option 1 has 3 trays, with 2 of them being deep, like twice the size in depth of the 3rd tray. So I have all my ships in the deeper trays, with enough room in the 3rd tray for tokes, stands, etc. I do have 1 YT-1300, but I keep that in the top portion with the cards, range rulers, etc. I don't have anything in the ship trays except sticky-sided bubble wrap, because I figure the box isn't supposed to tip on it's side, so I I'm not that concerned with damage.
I bought one of those Lidl ones (pic in post 12) a week or so ago and they look so nice, ive just ordered some Feldherr half trays to go in there as they fit perfectly, 1 60mm pluck and 2 16 model trays and plenty of space for the counters , pockets for the cards in the sides , a pocket in the top for the rulebooks ect

KR case could only hold 1/3 what I have. And if I can get the box I have for what 3 trays of foam cost....yeah.

That is a neat design! Love the Rebel Scum.

I appreciate the cost factor and I understand using these cases from a utility stand point; However, being wholly invested in the game as I am, I cannot justify allowing my figures to bounce around loose in those trays. Understand it is a "I have to protect the minis" issue for me personally. Carrying these fishing boxes around the convention floor to the gaming tables then back to the room between sessions only adds to the percentage chance for the figures to get damaged.
When I started, I was using a Cobalt case from Lowes, enough room to hold what I had from the Starter and up to wave 2. I quickly outgrew the case I had and needed a better safer way to store and transport my fleets.
This is two sets: (set E & F) purchased on sale and only cost 60 USD for both.
Everything is organized and protected.
Edited by LordColethey don't have a euro version of battlefoam???
Swedge,
You can get Battlefoam in the UK. Wayland Games for 1 sell it.
But I think part of the point was that he wanted something that wasn't going to cost the earth, which a Plano box would have in shipping, and any custom foam tends to be over here. For the price of a couple of foam trays I got a whole bag, plus seperate hard plastic trays.
Edited by Arden FellI've been using the Plano trays for over a year now, and I have yet to have one damaged in transit. The way I pack them they really can't do much more than wiggle a bit, and I've had my entire bag dropped and roll on the floor with no problems at all. The minis are a lot tougher than they look.
I was seriously considering getting Battlefoam this year, but at this point the Plano does everything the Battlefoam does, and is a lot more customizable.
