The Slippery Fish List

By TheGreedyMerchant, in X-Wing

Fooling around some more with a-wings and a b-wing, I came up with this list. Critiques are welcome.

Ibtisam

- Elusiveness

- Sensor Jammer

- Heavy Laser Cannon

- Shield Upgrade

Green Squadron Pilot

- Push the Limit

- Assault Missles

Green Squadron Pilot

- Push the Limit

- Assault Missles

I do like the synergy of Elusiveness and Sensor Jammer, but I would NEVER spend that many points on a small base...

Switch Sensor Jammer for Advanced Sensors. Makes you more slippery from a mobility point of view. That gives you 2 points. Also drop the Shield upgrade, and give each A-wing a stealth device. Super slippery.

I agree 45 pts is excessive for a small base (I still want to try it though). I have considered alternate builds besides the one above.

Ibby

-Sensor Jammer

- Elusiveness

-Shield Upgrade

Green Squad Pilot x 2

- Assault Missles x 2

- Push the Limit x 2

- Shield Upgrade x 2

I also have swapped out the missles for the heavy laser cannon. I settled on the one I originally posted because it gave a lot firepower against swarms but if needed the a-wings could use the missles against non-swarm targets and Ibby had a big gun herself. I have also considered taking the missles and HLC off entirely and trying to fit in another ship which would probably be for the best.

3 Green Squadron Pilots with PTL and Ibby with sensor jammer and elusiveness maybe?????

Ibby

-Sensor Jammer

-Elusiveness

Blue Squadron

Green squadron Pilot x2

Push the Limit x2

Or

Ibby

-Sensor Jammer

-Elusiveness

Dagger Squadron pilot

Rookie pilot x2

Have you considered switching Elusiveness & Shield Upgrade for Push the Limit & Stealth Device

EPTs:

Elusiveness is more in the spirit of slippery and while both stress you, Push the limit allows you to decide when and how you receive the stress, which at first doesn't seem like much but your future maneuvers can be more preemptive instead of reactive hence during the planning round you can decide the right maneuver knowing that you will be this round stressed. This also allows her ability to kick into from the beginning of the round so even if your not attacked or attacked by a lower PS your attacks benefits from the reroll. Double actions are amazing, you can do any combination of target lock, focus & barrel roll. I fly 3 Bs and can't stress enough how good barreling rolling out of arcs/behind astroids can be plus the 1 her reroll is effectively a Target lock Lite. So even if you barrel roll for positioning, take focus for defense (see below) you still have something to help the attack.

Modifications:

I know I know Stealth on a 1 Agility ship is stupid but now you can maximize her abilities potential. Plus Sensor Jammer itself either forcing them to take & burn their focus (which either helps your attack or hurts theirs). This in combo w/ Push the limit can even allow you to use Target Lock/Barrel roll for offensive/positioning and take focus for defense. Granted the dice goddess is fickle (only a woman can cause me THAT much grief) but 1 extra green + 1 reroll + Sensor Jammer + possibly focus gives you a hell of fighting chance to keep stealth thus possible Return of Investment for 3 points compared to a guarenteed lost after one hit for me is clear.

...that came out longer than I planned well thats because I'm..... http://community.fantasyflightgames.com/index.php?/topic/102754-obsessed-with-this-game/

tl:dr same point cost but different way of achieving slipperiness.
