Just got done running the beginner game for EotE. I think its a whole lot better than Wotc. Trying to write my own adventures. Its nice to have the expanded universe to your disposal. Took alittle adjusting with the dice, but it was still fun to play. Cant wait to run beyond the rim.

It is a good game. Lots of depth and nuances to explore. You want a great source of session ideas, watch old A-Team episodes........ ;)

there is a thread on these boards that covers peoples experiences with beyond the rim. i recommend looking at it before you start that adventure.

My biggest personal piece of advice with Beyond the RIm is to take the section about tying in subplots to your PCs' Obligations/Motivations to heart. Not only will that give some better stakes for the players as they get involved, but it'll aid you, as the GM, in coming up with ideas if the group goes a little "off script."

For instance, one of my PCs was roped into meeting with IsoTech in the first place by an ISB agent, designed as a rival to the ISB agent featured in the story. The deal was that if the PCs could beat the rival agent to the chase, he'd make some of their Imperial problems go away (i.e., removal of Obligation). So something like that, for instance, gives a fun incentive beyond credits for the players to go along with the story.

That's what I was planning to do! Im diving into it this weekend. It's sad that it took forever to prepare for but I think it's worth it. Excited to run the adventure. Running the the one from the GM screen pack was a huge help for me to understand the rules.

Episode 1 is done and it was a success. I did use the side quests with ISB agents and you were righ It helps the pace of the first episode.

Preparing for episode 2 now. This part of beyond the rim seems very intense. So far I've read through half of it and I'm very excited about how it will all pan out
