Can Time Bomb kill the Dunwich Horror?
In the following thread:
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/371814
ColtsFan76 said yes to this..
But the rules state that effect that return the dunwich horror to the cup (like a mythos for exapmple) have no affect on it. The time bomb uses the wording "return to the cup" and I fail to see how it is different that the mythos that reads "return all monsters in the streets to the cup".
From the KW answers thread:
"5. Do "return monsters to the cup" effects work on Spawn monster or no? Can the Feds Raiding Arkham actually get rid of the Dunwich Horror? (06/13/08)
No. Spawn monsters should never returned to the cup by card effects like "Feds Raid Arkham". "
Which is of course, where you first looked before posting this thread, right kroen? Right?
Ofcours, but I thought Time Bomb may be ruled differently. It's still inconclusive.
Why is it inconclusive? "Return to cup" doesn't work on Spawn, period. Note the quote above say "effects", which covers more ground that just saying Mythos card for example.
Same as "return to Arkham" gets you an explored token.
How about Wave of Destruction?

What's the wording on that, isn't that kill/destroy?
Edit: WoD is worded defeat, but only works on 3 or less toughness monsters.
It's defeat any three monsters... so no overwhelming damage, etc?

p. 24:
Overwhelming X: Any investigator that defeats this monster in
combat still loses X Stamina."
Key here being "in combat" I feel.
Hmm. Yes, I'd have to say that defeat in combat should only deal Overwhelming damage.
But yeah, I'd say Wave of Destruction applies to spawn monsters because you are "defeating" them. Same thing with Flute of the Elder Gods. Just, defeating a spawn monster means it's returned to the cup. Time Bomb, however, probably does not because you aren't defeating anything.
