Why does this game do this to you, I mean it gets totally under your skin. If I'm not playing this game I'm putting together lists, or I'm looking at expansions to buy, or I'm looking at accessories or I' m reading these forums (which are awesome by the way), or I'm even playing the fricking game in my sleep. I LOVE THIS GAME !!!!!
Obsessed with this game!
Just today:
looked at mini card storage
made new A Wing lists with Rebel Aces previews
Worked on 2 month campaign that is now 8 pages long in length
built new A/B wing list
do I qualify as well?
Right there with you both....
Helped birth the X-wing game in my town.
Built a Star Destroyer.
On these, and other, forums more than daily.
Constantly working on lists.
Trying to get a May 4th 6 player game organised, using above mentioned SD.
Always on the lookout for a new storage solution.
Only thing I haven't attempted yet is repainting the minis.
I find I am the same way.
Simple, if you're anything like me then your favorite toys growing up were star wars. You had the action figures, ships, play sets, the Darth Vader head storage case, an AT-AT... FFG has given us an affordable way to relive our childhood in a game that satisfies our adult minds.
Stone makes a great point, but it was Lego for me. :3
Besides mentally thinking about new lists I'm either thinking about repaints and upcoming releases, basically playing it up in my head (which is... probably not that good an idea since I make myself win a lot. XD) actually doing my repaints, and of course, looking forward to when my league gets started in April. Yay~ <3

This describes my experience with Heroscape and now X-Wing perfectly.

I made Star Wars Legos before Lego did. I'm betting you did the same.
Like stone said, they have done an excellent job of both repackaging my childhood and engaging the part of me that loves flight sims and strategy games, well tactical games at least.
That plus the very nice cards, tokens and ships. So much of what I have in my collection is what I wanted as a kid. I never had the falcon, or Ywings or swings or interceptors... Having them and getting to play with them, pure win.
Same here mate, same here!
Edited by VissahJust got back from visiting family and friends back in my hometown. Of course I brought my X-wing stuff and of course all of my old gaming buddies are now hopelessly addicted. They are now rushing out to buy minis!
I probably played 4-5 games of wing per day and stayed for a week. Still. Not. Tired. of it

That is very well said...........and true!
I think we love this game because it is the perfect marriage of a great property with a great rule set.
I knew I was going to sink lots of money into this game way back when I first heard it was coming out. I love Star Wars, I love space ships, I love dog fighting. I played Star Wars: Star Warriors a fighter table top game that came out with the very first West End Games Star Wars RPG. Then I played Star Wars Starship Battles the game wizards came out with when they had the Star Wars license. Neither of these games were particularly great games, but I loved them because it was about Star Wars Space Ships.
I always loved Star Wars, and it was the space ships that I loved the most (even more than Jedi).
The real surprise of Star Wars X-wing was how awesome the game play was. It instantly became I favorite rule set for any table top mini game. When I found out that Wizkids was paying FFG to do a Flight Path game for Star Trek. I thought it was too good to be true. Star Wars vs Star Trek aside, Flight Path is just a great system.
I could go on for pages and pages about what I love about the flight path system. I won't I will just say that I feel like Star Wars just feels like the ultimate made just for me. Star Wars, Space Ships, and a really really really fun game mechanics.
This post makes me sad because I was suppose to play yesterday and it did not happen.

Well said, Hrathen. I could not have said it any better.
I am a Star Wars fan, first 'n foremost. When WotC came out with Star Wars Minis, I was exstatic, . . . and bummed when they lost the license. Now Fantasy Flight has picked up the ball, and ran with it. The great thing is I haven't heard of Fantasy Flight Games until I heard that they're making a Star Wars (miniatures) game, the LCG (I'm still trying to get into that), and later on a role-playing game.
I played the prototype game of X-wing at Gen Con the year or so before the Initial Wave was released. I totally fell in love, as many of us here, with the free-flowing play of the FlightPath System. I was like, where are the grids (lol). No grid. Sweet!
Fantasy Flight, you have a life-long fan. Keep up the great work.
I feel the same as you guys. This game is addictive.
I realized I had a problem about 3 days after I switched my Ebay Feed to show x-wing items and it resulted in my drunken purchase of a large lot of ships....aka spending more than double what I have already spent on this game.
I've got it bad for this game, I'm on leave for two weeks and I have my daughter coming to stay, which is awesome, but it means that my weekly game night takes a rain check until after Easter. So I' m now poring over lists, watching vids on U-tube, or counting down the days till my Plano box arrives so I can get organised.
I mean it having loved minis games for years this is just perfection, Star Wars + wargaming = geek heaven! why has nobody done this before! and why isn't there a skirmish game for Star Wars, just imagine a battle field full of stormtroopers taking down Rebel Scum, with Jedi generals thrown in the mix......awesome.
Getting too elicited now, off to lie down and dream about playing X- Wing, I've got it bad man!!!!!!
My obsession with this game does truly come from my childhood as well. I can still remember my mom coming home from a yardsale with a X-Wing and a TIE fighter for me when I was 3, btw born 29 days after STAR WARS premiered in '77. I had all thw MotU, M.A.S.K., Transformers, and G.I. Joe stuff a kid wanted, but al of it paled against my STAR WARS stuff. I'd sit for hours with my friends playing with my Falcon, AT-AT, Imperial Shuttle, X-Wing, Y-Wing, B-Wing, TIE Fighter, Vader's TIE Fighter, TIE interceptor, and all the figures you can think of. Ii didn't leave the house to go anywhere without my Chewie bandolier figure transport on and full!
This game lets me feel like I did back then running around the house dogfighting...only this time we know who hit first! I had a great childhood where looking back I was probably given way more than I deserved. STAR WARS for me is about all the old friends I stil remember but don't see often enough and all the new friends I can just meet and sit for hours talking about it.
I do find myself thinking up lists or tactics alot. I can say I have spent my fair share on this game. But for what it takes me back to is worth every penny!
I just put away my Flames of War stuff... That's how addicted I am.
This game rocks.
It's tabletop turn based crack!
I can quit x-wing anytime I want to... ... ...
I just don't want to. *scoops an amrload of expansions into the shopping basket, and a couple starter sets to give away and spread the infection*
Edited by GazerfoxieFFG games have hit me hard, both mentally and financially, but in a good way. I got into both X-Wing and Android: Netrunner since New Years and am hooked on both. Trouble is finding enough players in my town. Just started building my fleets, no real preference yet on Rebel vs Imperial but am leaning towards the dark side. Dang these hobbies are expensive...

Drunken ebaying is right up there with dunken texting of your ex in the bad idea department
