Mini card storage

By Rasconzo, in X-Wing

Normal size pockets that fit sleaved large cards, but since they are side loading it's easy to put 2 small cards in next to each other.

Nice

For simplicities sake, I put my upgrade cards in the zip-lok bags that the stands are in, then set them in the plano case I use. The red one with the lid that also has a small case built in. My pilot cards are also in cut bags from the company as well. I stack them in the bottom part in the large area there.

I find card binders more crap to carry around and really don't like digging through binders to find cards... but that's a personal thing.. lol.. played a couple card games over the years and just hate fussing with binders.. have always used card boxes for keeping them.. (no magic.. hate it.. but L5R, and the Shadowrun TCG when it was out and popular in the late 90s)

That's exactly what I do. I figure that I'm spending enough cash on this game as it is, I don't understand the need to spend more for just to store my cards. I have so many of the little ziploc bags that come with the game and each expansion. I have One larger bag for each factions pilot cards, one small bag for the damage deck, and two small bags that I use to divide up EPTs, Modifications, and Secondary Weapons. The small cards all fit in my little $3 organizer along with all of my tokens, dials etc. Anything larger fits in my Game box. (One stupid asteroid refuses to fit in my small organizer, as well as the Proximity Mine marker from Slave I GRRRR!!)

I keep all of the small bags that come with every expansion pack, just in case I need one for something.. My problem soon will be to find a storage solution for the bags themselves!

I just use the bags they give you and separate them based on type. I know im boring = /

what keeps the cards from skidding around and into each other? as that's the problem i had when at first i used trading card pages for the smaller cards. however my cards are not sleeved.

DB Draft, I like that box! Where'd you get it?

I use a binder intended for business cards. the upgrade cards fit perfectly and th ebinder is nondescript.

I use Ultra Pro 100 count clear deck boxes

You can get them at Wal-Mart or any card store. I then took a comic book backing board and cut a piece to make 2 slots. The upgrade cards can stand up just fine, and you can get 2 rows in one box. One would hold well over 100 cards in sleeves or 200 bare.

I use these for all my cards works great

Is there anywhere online or in the Uk where i can get one of these piano boxes for my minis?

Where can I find a box like this? I want one...

I use a Box for shipping, and looks great, it's a Little bit larger, but it contain all my upgarde cards well, greettings.

The box is not really "sold" on its own, it came with small glass beakers. The cardboard dividers are interlocked together. It would be pretty easy to make these yourself once you have a box of suitable dimensions. Now I need another one for all the Huge ship upgrades!

My solution was that I gave a bunch of them away to my brother when I bought him the starter set of the game for his birthday. I used to keep all of my cards in the bags but that was messy for me as I'd have to dig through the bags to find the right ones. Now I use a card folder.

I'll sell you all my Tobacco card pages for the cost of postage.

They're 1/16" too narrow for unsleeved upgrade cards. You can almost sort of force the cards into about 1/2 of the pockets if you're not worried about things like slight arcs in your cards and having your binder pages lie flat. Needless to say, my upgrade cards are still in the extra little baggies that came with the ships, taking up one of the 3600-size boxes that came with my Plano 1364 tackle box.

Business card binders are great for upgrade cards for two reasons:

1. You get to choose between many sizes, shapes and numebrs of cards per page, so you're very likely to find one that fits your other components' box.

2. Business cards are slightly larger that upgrade cards allowing for each pocket to fit a bunch of duplicate cards you may have (although you'd still need at least two pockets for all those Proton Torpedoes!!)

I use a mini binder that has 4 pockets per page and metal covers. Keeps stuff organised and easy to find when needed.

Office Depot and Staples both sell business card pages for binders in the 8.5x11 and the 5.5x8.5 sizes. I prefer the smaller ones from Office Depot becasue they are oriented in the Up position as opposed to the sideways. I can get 5 or so of a single card in a slot.

I can't recommend the ultra pro side loading binder enough.

I have the 2x2 version instead of the 3x3 (the 3x3 doesn't fit in my storage box)... But otherwise they're the same.

I rotate the thing 90 degrees and flip through it like a poster instead of like a book. This takes it from "side loading" to "top/bottom loading". At that point, I can fit 2 cards (sleeved) in each pocket... With the addition of all of the new cards from the huge ships, I actually have doubled up on most cards (meaning i put 2 PT torps on the left of the pocket, and 2 more PT on the right side of the pocket). Everything stays in place. Everything stays organized. Everything is easy to find. Everything is protected.

So jealous of DB Draft's box.

I use a box I bought at Hobby Lobby to store all my sleeved cards in one box. The space inside is 8 inches (20.3 cm) wide. (Mine happens to be a little over 4.25 inches deep, but any box 8 inches wide should work.) I cut cardboard to fit the depth of the box acting as dividers between stacks of cards. So I have Rebel pilot cards on the left, upgrade cards in the middle, and Imperial pilot cards on the right. I also made myself some little filing tabs to separate each ship-type for easy searching.

This is what I use for the upgrade cards. It's an UltraPro sideload box that's available here.

It was suggested by someone here in another thread. It works great, but mine is full already. I'm planning to get another one and make some dividers. For $3, you can't beat it.

When the game first came out I suggested that FFG should produce their own binder pages that hold sleeved upgrade cards. Since they already make sleeves how much harder could it be to make a page that holds there own mini cards.

I moustache you where you bought that box.

Ah, I see what you did there. :D

I got it at my FLGS.

I'd put all of my pilots in there, and then ask 'who wants to go for a ride?'.

How many cards can you fit in a box?
