Anyone have any applications or tips for using your iPad to run a game session?
Would love to see FFG Release their content as an App with the ability to grab additional content (adventures / source material / etc...) as in-app purchases #pipedream

The official dice app and Evernote for campaign notes and adventure hooks.
With my own adventures I export them all to PDF and dump them into iBooks.
I also use a utility that someone recommended in another thread called Ambience, which lets you mix all kinds of looping sounds for background effects.
I tried to do this with an iPad but it ended up being too slow. However, just because my ipads are old doesn't mean it wouldn't work for someone else!
I haven't completely given up on the ipad as a gm tool, I just use a laptop instead at this point with most of the same tools. I would say that aside from the random sticky note, I'm a paperless GM. I'll eventually find a way to incorporate the ipads I'm sure, it was just a touch too slow for me when I was trying to keep the action rolling.

John Williams soundtracks playing via iPad.
I mainly just use the Remote app to control my PC iTunes playlist and volume. (My PC is in the same room where we game) I do use it to get onto my Obsidian Portal sometimes during the game, and I also have it linked to my Star Wars photos, so i can show some quick pictures. You could also use the RD Client to actually run your desktop on your iPad. You could even then run the character builder from Oggdude. I also use the PDF apps for the PDF books I have sometimes. Dropbox, Google Drive, and some other cloud services are great.
Yeah, for the foreseeable future, there will be no electronic content for this game.
I went back to the drawing board and played with Evernote all weekend based on Deve's suggestion. I'm impressed with using this as a "Homebase" I started to create entries for NPCs that I could tag with the Campaign and Type if I ever needed to recall someone or bring someone into play with very little effort.
I also have been playing with " GM Tools " for iOS which looks promising - but I have essentially recreated in Evernote with a couple of "Template Entries".
I also played a bit with " InitiativeBoard " for iOS which is essentially the iPad version of the Magnetic Initiave Tracker. Love it.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Would you be willing to share some of these templates? I've been working on some templates with a pal of mine and there's always room for improvement in my work. Of course we can't share content, but I believe sharing the empty template is perfectly fine!
I'll see if there's any issue sharing our templates.
