XWMG Most Successful Game We've Ever Had

It sort of puts their supply problems in a different perspective--they're scrambling to keep up because the demand for the game is literally unprecedented for them.

On the money.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Not being able to keep ships in stock is both a blessing and a curse for FFG. First they have a mega hit on their hands as players clammed for more. Second, not having the ships on the shevels could be missed sells.

Pretty impressive concidering the level and quality of games that FFG produces.

I am blessed to have a large international hobby and game retailer based near where I live. They have NEVER been out of stock. Even with the Aces. The day they received them, you could have walked in and picked one up. I think the stocking problem lies with the retailers and not with FFG.

I live in Montana, so yeah, I am jealous of that.

Obviously we dont know the inner workings of it all, but I would assume that if they have unprecidented sales, and then throw on top the upcoming hype from the soon-to-be films, and XWMG will likely see some serious love from FFG and the community.

Doesn't surprise me in the slightest. They have made an awesome product with very high quality control.

It has spread like wildfire in my gaming group. Someone will play a few matches and then buy $100-$200 of models in one week, tacklebox and all.

If that's not the God's honest truth.... :D

Has this ever NOT happened to anyone who has played the game?

I wonder what X-wing has done for Plano sales? :D

Not surprising, pretty much what he's said in the past.

I wonder. If Plano knows what xwing has done for them, would be cool to see them advertise to gamers and fishers.

Hmm I do hope Plano makes 2 coloured boxes then,

would be a pain to come up to the lake/river/watery body just to find out you'll need to dangle your custom painted Red3 on your rod in the hope to catch anything... XD

When I hear from local stores ordering 60 sets of aces and getting allocated 12 instead that's definitely FFGs fault.

I'd rather have an inventory turnover rate that is ridiculously hard to keep up with than items sitting on the shelf for months. I know with GW's codex renewing strategy the older armies have items that may just sit and wait for months or years. My LGS had some models on it's shelves that were close to a decade old.

Allocations are unfortunately a reality with this type of thing, but its what distributors have to do to keep customers happy.

Up in Northern Ontario here, and my game shop sadly had a lower than expected supply of Imp. Aces (he got 4 out of the 10 he ordered, and I was one of the few who got one). I'm sort-of expecting it's his supply who has problems, since I was waiting for some time before the Wave 1 reprint and got my fill of those ships, and we're still sadly waiting on reprints from Waves 2 and 3. We certainly run into some pretty irritating issues of supply here when it comes to that since we're on the fringe of being remote. Thankfully I can say that most things do tend to sell quickly for the game, especially new stuff. He (our local shop owner) completely ran out of stock around Christmas when the game was really starting to pick up for the locals here. Now we have a small but dedicated league, and I'm always happy to do a repaint or play a game. One game of this and I was hooked. :3

I pre-ordered my imperial aces about a month ago and they have yet to arrive. My friend ordered his on Wednesday and they showed up the next day (overnight shipping). Luckily I was in a game shop in another town and they happened to have one display copy left that I promptly snatched up.

All this is so true, I spent £120 after looking at videos and reviews, showed the game to a mate of mine now he has gone a bought a load more and I have a weekly X-Wing match. GW could learn a lot from FFG, quality and value for money!

Which is why this Catachan Imperial Guard player has abandoned his watch defending the Emperor and his Golden Throne, to serve a more generous Emperor.

What people don't tend to understand is there is a middleman between FFG and the Stores: the Distributers. They are often the ones under pre-ordering things and causing all kinds of issues. If people's pre-orders at stores translated directly to distributor pre-orders then they would have enough on hand (well, for the most part). However, when some distributors don't bother pre-ordering an appropriate amount, some store's orders get rationed, while other areas have a surpluses.
