What do you feel are the best ship/pilot combos. I'm not talking entire builds, but rather the best synergistic combos of ept/upgrades for each pilot. .
For example - Blue with Advanced Sensors.

Dutch/Garven.
ah i misread, you meant upgrades.
Dutch with R5-K6 (Not the greatest upgrade but when it works its pretty handy)
Shuttle with Engine Upgrade
Soontir with PTL
Luke with R2-D2
Y wing with Turret
HWK with turret
Edited by GuitarqueroWell, not necessarily upgrades, (ship upgrades), but what EPT or upgrade works best with them (and I guess WHY you think so..)
Tycho with PTL for instance - with his ability to ignore a stress, PTL works perfectly on him as he can do two actions and ignore the stress from PTL.
I don't want to count out anything I suppose, so essentially, if you had 1 ship, how would you build it and why would you pick the upgrades/ept's/crew cards etc for it.
I feel like I need to copy my response to these threads down to my computer so I can just paste it every time one pops up...
Here it is for my, by ship type, with unreleased stuff in italics :
Most TIE Fighters: Naked unless trying a gimmick build
Howlrunner: Stealth Device and/or Determination (I ran her the other night without Determination in three games, and in two of those three I got the "Ignore your pilot abilities and upgrade cards" crit and went on to survive the rest of the game as a 21 point (stealth) PS 8 Academy Pilot... I know the odds of that are astronomical, but it seems like I either run her with Determination or I lose her ability way before I lose her ship.)
Darth Vader: Daredevil and Engine Upgrade; Any missile; Squad Leader
Any Interceptor: Push the Limit and Stealth Device
PS 6+ pilots: Royal Guard TIE title with any two defensive upgrades (Stealth, Shield, and Hull) is tough to take down
Turr Phennir: Veteran Instincts
Soontir Fel: Push the Limit was MADE for this gentleman, and if you add a Targeting Computer he has all 5 actions and gets his pick of two with a free focus token, making him either the most offensive, defensive, or maneuverable ship in the game, turn by turn.
Any Firespray: Recon Specialist and/or Seismic Charge
Krassis Trelix: Heavy Laser Cannon
Kath Scarlet: Rebel Captive and Ion Cannon; Marksmanship's first of three possible useful pilots
Boba Fett: Navigator and/or Engine Upgrade
Any Bomber: Seismic Charges (I love these things)
Captain Jonus: Squad Leader or Veteran Instincts
Major Rhymer: Push the Limit and any missile/torpedo
Biggs: Shield upgrade or hull upgrade; R2-F2 and Stealth Device if I want super-defensive Biggs
Garven Dreis: R2-A6 and Veteran Instincts
Luke Skywalker: R2-D2, Shield Upgrade, and Draw Their Fire is an AWESOME support ship
Wedge Antilles: Nearly anything works, but I enjoy R2 Astromech and Push the Limit, so that when you know you can green the next turn and want a heavy hit, you have TL + Focus on whoever you want to shoot. Also, hull upgrade is a cheap way to make Wedge live through an extra shot
Any Y-wing: R2 Astromech and Ion Cannon Turret
Dutch: VERY RARELY R5-K6 if I'm not throwing any other droid on him and really want the target locks
Horton: Baster Turret if he has someone passing him a focus
Any A-wing: Stealth Device makes them really hard to catch. Chardann Refit is a MUST
Green Squadron Pilot: Push the Limit on a low PS guy is awesome. Boost and focus to block your opponent's front line and blast his back row at R1, or use Focus/Evade to become unstoppable
Arvel Cyrynd: who?
Tycho Celchu: Same as a green squadron pilot, Daredevil also can be useful here.
Outer Rim Smuggler: Anti Pursuit Lasers or Engine Upgrade with a Navigator
Any Falcon: Gunner to make better use of half of your squad's 1 shot, Falcon title will add 4-6 hit points over the course of the game just by blocking a single damage each turn (though it will decrease your damage output). Chewbacca is probably the best crewman in the game for damage mitigation (but obviously can't ride with himself). Expert Handling is awesome on falcons.
Chewbacca: Hull Upgrade is better than a shield here, as it's the same effect for 1 less point
Lando Calrissian: Nien Numb makes his green more frequent for his action
Han Solo: Marksmanship's second of three usable pilots.
Any B-wing: Advanced Sensors and Ion Cannons makes a B-wing a great, versatile attack platform, even on a Blue. Push the Limit and Engine Upgrade, with or without Advanced Sensors, makes the B-wing a super-maneuverable ship.
Ibitsam: Elusiveness is awesome on Ibit, because it makes your opponent re-roll then lets you re-roll your defense. Push the Limit has it's uses, again because of the re-roll.
Ten Numb: Marksmanship's third of three usable pilots, he also likes Autoblaster Cannons, but really no upgrade juves well enough with Ten Numb to be useful. Take him for his high pilot skill.
Any HWK: Ion Cannon Turret makes the HWK one of the best support ships in the game, as cheap as 21 points for a generic ion gun. Recon Specialist is also great, since focus is really useful for their 2-dice defense.
Roark Garnet: I generally run him with the above combo and not much else
Kyle Katarn: Add the Moldy Crow title to the above combo and you've got the king of focus tokens
Jan Ors: To keep her cheap, I run her with an Ion Cannon Turret only, and sometimes add Chewbacca to keep her alive since her ability makes her so nice to have around. Most people use Nien Numb instead, but I find 1-banking is usually plenty to keep her in range.
If I had to pick any 1 ship in the game and kit it out, it would be Han Solo with Marksmanship, Chewbacca, and a Gunner. 1v1, nothing can kill that.
Discounting large ships, it would be Soontir Fel with Push the Limit, Royal Guard TIE title, a Stealth Device, and a Shield Upgrade. He should be able to maneuver around and kill just about anything.
Edited by ErulethoNot released yet but Cracken's Z-95 with Wingman. Pull an allies stress at the start of combat, attack, give an ally a free action.
Also unreleased: Hobbie + R2D6 + PtL; may depend on how timing issues between PtL and pilot ability work but could potentially focus & target lock every turn without carrying any stress.
Summary:
Cracken + Wingman (21 points for PS 8)
Hobbie + R2D6 + PtL
Im definatly happy when i run Krassis + HLC with Captain Jonus along side
Also unreleased: Hobbie + R2D6 + PtL; may depend on how timing issues between PtL and pilot ability work but could potentially focus & target lock every turn without carrying any stress.
If he uses the TL during an attack that will work.
Other unreleased X-Wing combinations:
Hobbie + R3-A2
Stress your opponent while removing your own
Hobbie + R3-A2 + Flechette (+ munitions failsafe)
Stress your opponent twice while removing your own.
Tarn + R7
Porkins + R5-D8 + PTL (+ hull upgrade)
