I've got like 4 little cardboard punch-out proofs of purchase sitting around messing up my nicely organized Descent box. Does FFG include them with other games as well? Is there any history of FFG actually using these things for anything?
Should I keep these proofs of purchase?
I keep them "just in case" even though I know the "just in case" moment will likely never happen.
I put them in the dice bag or let them free under the insert.
or those random legal issues regarding if you actually bought the item and want a proof of purchase sent in with the broken bits
the few times I used the "damage/missing component", thoses "proofs" were totaly unusefull (only once by the french translator, but I do not buy games from Edge)

Yes, FFG seems to be including these proof of purchase tokens in every game they release since Runewars, so far as I'm aware.
I haven't had to avail myself of FFG's customer service since they began distributing these things, so I have no idea how "necessary" they are. I'd recommend keeping them just in case, though. As Mr Bern says.
For my part I just leave it loose in the box for the corresponding game and put my nicely organized tackle boxes/tuck boxes, etc on top.
i had to use customer support last week they didn't ask for the proof of purchase, but i wopuld keep them all in a bag together just in case.
I have heard stories of people who needed to request most of an entire game in replacements, due to extensive damage, or due to repeated losses. The PoP tokens might be a safeguard against people abusing customer service to scam game copies or something.
ie: if you need to request replacements for over 50% of a game's components, in one shot or spread out over a few requests, they may ask for the PoP token at that point just to prove you really bought the game.
But if you're only asking for one or two figures, I guess they aren't that worried about it.
