I am working around a combo of Jan ors and Auto Blaster, if Ibistam is within range 1 of any x-wing, HWK, Tie, Interceptor, or Awing, they are dead assuming I roll all hits and no crits. 5 auto damage is devastating and hard to deal with.

If anyone can think of a better way to combo this out please post it!

Jen+Wedge is pretty nasty. If you're willing to risk it, but Expose on Wedge.

I don't think you are going to ever get to roll 5 dice with ibtisam. He's going to be attacking first and when someone is playing you they'd have to be a fool to NOT focus if they are anywhere near you.

My girlfriend actually ran a similar list with Wedge, Jan and Ten Numb with auto blaster. I lost (First time trying out the Firespray)

I went after jan first and she died incredible quick, But I was running interceptor squad mates and wedge and tennumb just ate through them.

I was pondering a Wedge/Jan/Horton list.

Come close to range 1 and let Wedge devour you, stay at range 2-3, and eat torps from Horton.

Actually, that's about the usual ratio. Take a look at other threads.

Honestly, I would drop Opp and R2F2, freeing up 7 points to give Jan an ICT. Then drop SL on her for another 2 points, and put PTL on Ibby. Now she can focus, boost into R1, and stress herself for a single die reroll. Jan then gives her 4 dice which without her reroll is 3 hits, and her reroll should increase it to just under 3.25 hits.

Which I know isn't quite what you wanted to hear, but whatever. If you force actions with the autoblaster (aka, Evade on a swarm) it'll have done its job even if it only does 2 damage.

Ibtisam is better with Push the Limit so you can make sure she gets her reroll from being stressed. I know you want to roll more damage dice with this squad, but I'm sure her natural three attack dice with the one from Jan will be enough to blow away some ships.

I like elusiveness on Ibitsam as it allows you to force the attacker to re roll a die and then you get the re roll after. It is less effective if you are against a swarm of low PS ships however as you will be shooting before them when ideally you want to be shooting second with this combo.

A friend of mine has a list with Ibtisam + HLC + Opportunist with Jan for the assist.

Opportunist gives Ibtisam the stress she needs to kick your ass and yes, since it works with secondary weapons as well, I put the HLC on her. Dropping 6 dice on anything will HURT.

Wes Jansson makes this combo shine by setting up Opportunist. The essential list I run is:

Wes (previously Wedge)

Jan + Ion, Nien

Ibtisam, HLC, Opportunist

6 dice of HLC with reroll (and usually a focus) will wreck most things. If there's an opportunist target before Wes fires, you can pick which to let Jan upgrade to maximize damage.
