New build idea

I've came up with an idea of creating an XYX list. Does it stand a chance against other list?

Wedge +R2-D2+marksman[36]

Dutch+pt+ion turret[32]

Garven + pt[30]

My strategy: Garven flies to the range 2-3 and focuses, Vander flies next locking on the enemy and giving a tl to Garven. Wedge advances on flank or with them and takes marksmanship as an action. Wedge shoots firsts than Garven launches his pt, spending his focus. He gives it to Vander. Dutch launches his pt too. During next rounds Dutch and Garven fly as a squad, while wedge outflanks the enemy. He'll force opponent to split his forces or to go after him, allowing XY squadron to outflank.

You will struggle to win with 3 ships. The target priority of this list is an issue. Wedge will die really fast then Dutch most likely.

If you could find room for a 4th ship or Biggs instead of one of the other names, that would help greatly. I'd recommend the 4th ship, but if you want to stick with 3 it can work, it is just very unforgiving at times.

In general - no it won't. I toyed around with a similar archetype awhile back that had Dutch and Garven sharing actions to fire PT. IIRC it was:

Dutch w/ PT APT ICT

Garven w/ PT R2

Ibby w/ PTL (or maybe it was AdvS)

The point was pretty much the same, share TL+F between Dutch and Garven. But it had the added benefit of an APT for turn 2. I found that it was too difficult to get the APT off, and even when I did, Dutch was pretty much dead, so the ICT was wasted. I had one game that just went perfectly, and it was beautiful. But then I had 3-4 games that it just wasn't working at all. My opponents would take out Dutch, and out maneuver him, more often than not, I ended up not using the APT, but it was due to the presense of the APT that they were keeping me from using it, so dropping it didn't work any better because they Garven just died right away. *shrug. It was fun to play though, so go ahead and try it, maybe you'll make it work where I couldn't.
