Just want to verify something that came up at a game a few days ago. Given the rule that you can only reroll a die once... If a TIE is given a target lock (say from Jenson) and is also in range of Howlrunner, they can only reroll misses once, so having the target lock is pointless if you're in range of Howlrunner?
Howlrunner + Target Locks
You cannot reroll any die more than once. So Howlrunner+TL is overkill.
Target lock allows you to reroll all any number of dice. Howlrunner allows you to reroll one die. So TL is not pointless in range of Howlrunner.
Edit:
Replaced all with any number of
Edited by dvorOk, maybe not pointless, but when you're only tossing out 2 attack dice on a standard TIE attack, its a bit overkill to have both types of rerolls on hand.
Not if you're at range 1 and are throwing 3 dice. In that case Howl only gives you one extra chance to score a hit, where TL gives you 3.
That said, spending the points to give a Tie Fighter a TL is normally not going to be the best use of those points.
Howlrunner gives a partial, action-free TL to anyone at whom you care to shoot.
Target Lock gives you the full banana, for an action, at a specific subject.
I like using both, but I'll only take the action if I can't shoot at someone this turn with that boat.
Also, giving a Targeting Computer to Howlrunner herself wouldn't be a bad idea, as she doesn't benefit from her ability.

She also doesn't need to use an action to use her ability.
But is giving Targeting Computer to a 2 Attack ship the best use of the points? It's only 2 points, so I suppose it wouldn't take many misses changed to hits to make up for it.
